Meet Brynn.
Looking at these photos, you'd never know she's become one of our more medically complex dogs.
You'd never know she's undergone multiple specialist consultations with MedVet Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Dr. Kinsel.
You'd never know she's had extensive diagnostics and testing while our veterinary team works to determine the cause of her anemia.
And you certainly wouldn't know that Brynn's journey is far from over.
She continues to require monthly bloodwork, medications, and ongoing monitoring as we work toward getting her healthy and providing her with the quality of life she deserves.
While she doesn't know she's become one of our more medically complex dogs, she certainly knows she's loved.
The truth is that Brynn is not alone.
At Ohio Fuzzy Pawz, we don't create a fundraiser every time a dog needs extra care. If we did, we'd be asking for help almost every week.
Many of our rescue dogs arrive with significant medical and behavioral needs. We simply absorb those costs and keep moving forward because the dogs need us.
In recent years, Ohio Fuzzy Pawz has funded:
🐾 Cardiology consultations and diagnostics
🐾 Internal medicine consultations
🐾 Specialist evaluations and treatment plans
🐾 Hip surgeries
🐾 Knee surgeries
🐾 Enucleation (eye removal) surgeries
🐾 Extensive dental procedures
🐾 Behavioral rehabilitation and professional training
🐾 Long-term medications and monitoring
🐾 Emergency veterinary care
One recent adoption return required a dental procedure that resulted in the removal of 24 teeth.
Brynn has required multiple specialist visits, extensive diagnostics, monthly bloodwork, and ongoing medications, and we still don't have all the answers.
At the same time, our routine expenses never stop. Heartworm, flea, and tick prevention alone costs Ohio Fuzzy Pawz approximately $1,500 every month. Add in vaccines, dentals, diagnostics, medications, emergency care, and specialty consultations, and the costs add up quickly.
We don't share this because we're looking for sympathy.
We share it because these dogs deserve care regardless of how expensive that care may be.
When a dog needs a specialist, we go.
When a dog needs surgery, we schedule it.
When a dog needs training, we provide it.
When a dog needs ongoing medical care, we stay committed.
When a dog needs a second chance, we say yes.
The reality is that these costs are beginning to catch up with us.
Today, we're asking our village to help.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 to help offset the growing veterinary expenses that allow us to continue rescuing, treating, rehabilitating, and advocating for dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
