H & P Animal Alliance H & P Animal Alliance is a 501c3 non-profit that seeks to better the lives of animals through education and action. We do not do on site adoptions.

We have a low cost spay/neuter program, a transport program to help local adoptable dogs, and we supply vaccinations to local shelters. We are a small organization that pulls dogs in need from the overcrowded shelters in Ouachita County, Columbia County and surrounding areas. We work with other rescue groups to place dogs from our local shelters. We have a low cost spay and neuter program called S

NIP to help low income families with the cost of the procedure. Our adoption process includes an application, home check, vet check, and reference check. Our dogs are completely vetted, including spay or neutered, and microchipped.

We are excited to announce that we will be having a fall mum fundraiser beginning in September! Proceeds will help us continue our mission of helping dogs in need through spay and neuter services, our transport program, and our shelter outreach and foster programs. 😍

One look from her, and a quick kiss to the forehead, was all it took for our volunteer to know she wasn't going to be able to send Ducky back to the shelter after her spay surgery.
Even though she already has a foster dog, our volunteer said yes to fostering another. Well played, Ducky girl! 🥰
Welcome to HPAA, Duck Duck! We know the perfect home is out there for you!

Ducky is one of our favorite dogs at OCAPS and yesterday we sponsored her spay surgery.

We love this girl! We have been wanting to pull her from the shelter for months, but we haven't had a foster home available.

Ducky has the typical energy for a 5-year-old. She has bursts of playfulness followed by a nap followed by more play time!

When you foster through us we pay for dog food, supply a crate, and pay for all medical care for the dog. You supply love and safety! For more information, email us at [email protected].

When you donate to us, or by supporting one of our fundraisers, you are helping us help dogs like Gem and Gemini.

These sweet little guys came into a local pound with a terrible skin infection. We were able to step in and have them seen by a veterinarian where they received medications to help.

We hated to send them back after treatment, but without a foster home available we had no choice. 😢

As a foster based rescue we are limited on what we can take based on our open foster homes. If you would like to learn about fostering, and how you can help save lives, send us a message! We will be happy to answer any questions!

Our Jazzy girl wasn't acting herself over the weekend so we felt a doctor's visit was in order.
After an exam, blood work and X-rays her diagnosis was fluid build up in the lungs (which is likely heartworm related) and anemia (also likely heartworm related.) She also has mammary tumors that we are hoping will be benign. We had Jazzy scheduled for her spay surgery and to start heartworm treatment in the next few weeks, but will postpone until she feels better. ❤️
Thanks to our friends at El Dorado Animal Hospital for taking care of her today and her foster home for making sure she has a big, fluffy couch to lounge and recover on. 🥰

We visited the Camden City pound yesterday and vaccinated 14 puppies and one adult dog.

One of our programs is an outreach to local pounds and shelters. We help fill in the gaps for government organizations that do not have money in the budget set aside for medical needs for the animals. Our program purchases vaccinations, dewormer, flea/tick medicine, heartworm testing kits, heartworm prevention, and steps in by paying the medical bill when able when a dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian for additional health care. Like all of our programs, it is funded through donations, fundraisers, and our volunteers and amazing board members.❤️

All of our foster homes are full, but if you would like to help us get more dogs out of the shelters just ask us about fostering!

Ready to add a new four-legged family member? Reach out to your local rescue organizations, pounds, and shelters. Breed specific rescues are also a great avenue for those that are looking for a specific breed. Always, always, make sure you are ready to make that commitment to them the rest of their life before adopting. They deserve only the best! 🥰

We sponsored a few dogs at OCAPS to be spayed/ neutered in the hopes it would help them get adopted. It's sad and hard to believe that they're still waiting without any interest!

There are so many great dogs and cats in our local shelters just waiting on homes. So many precious souls in Columbia, Ouachita, and Union Counties just waiting until someone gives them the chance.

Please consider adoption when you're ready for a new four-legged family member. If you're not ready to adopt but would still like to help, fostering is a great option! Fostering is welcoming a dog or cat into your home while they are waiting to be adopted. ❤️

For more information on fostering, you can email us at [email protected].

Aryia started her heartworm treatment yesterday and Jazzy and Sophia will start theirs in the next few weeks.

We were thankful that we had three people who were able to open their homes to fostering. ❤️ Without foster homes we're unable to pull dogs from local shelters.

If you would like more information on fostering, email us at [email protected]. We supply everything you need including food, a crate, toys, and we cover all medical care for the dog!

We feel like a broken record when we say this, but it's past time that our communities push for change in regards to the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.

Our shelters stay full and innocent dogs and cats are euthanized to make space for all the other abandoned animals that come through. Dogs are being turned away because there is no more room to safely house them. Rescuers are at their breaking points and are asked everyday to do even more. It's hard to tell people that we have no more fosters. It's hard to say that we have no more room to safely foster more.

Shelter staff are tasked with answering calls about loose dogs or dumped dogs and have to either say they have no more space or they make space by killing healthy, adoptable dogs. They listen as people rant and rave, yet the same people refuse to offer help. They are doing their best with a broken system.

The cycle will continue until we make our voices loud enough that our community leaders act!

A few years ago we sent an email to our local government in Camden outlining ways that have helped other towns with the crisis. We suggested differential licensing as a way to reduce pet overpopulation. Differential licensing refers to charging different licensing fees for animals that are spayed/neutered versus those that are not. It also ensures pets are vaccinated against rabies, a state law. One of the benefits for licensing fees is that the revenue generated by city tags and differential licensing is that it can help fund animal shelters, animal control services, and potentially low-cost spay/neuter programs.

Does it work? It can and it has in other areas of the country.

Change takes time and it's past time that we act. So many innocent lives deserve so much better!

Through responsible pet ownership, which includes spaying and neutering, we can make a difference in the lives of local animals. Reach out to your community leaders! Be a voice for the voiceless! We are, but we need the help of many more for change to happen.

We have spay and neuter vouchers going out today. If you need assistance with having your dog or cat spayed/neutered we have funds that can help low income pet owners. Check out https://form.jotform.com/251994197228066 to access our low cost spay and neuter application online.

Freddy, formerly Frappe, is living his best life in Montana with his forever family! ❤️

We pulled Freddy from a local shelter and he transported to Montana a month later.

We recently received an update from the receiving rescue, including his DNA results, and wanted to pass those along.

We are so happy that Freddy is living the life he deserves and thankful to everyone who helped get him there. 🥰

We have three doggos that will be going through heartworm treatment in the coming weeks.

Heartworm treatment isn't cheap and isn't easy on the dogs, but the longer they go without treatment, the more damage is being done. If you would like to help with the cost, just let us know!
