Pittsburgh CAT is the adoption arm of Homeless Cat Management Team. This group started as an informal page dedicated to helping friendly stray cats and kittens found by HCMT volunteers doin

g Trap-Neuter-Return. Volunteers spend countless hours helping to save adoptable cats from the streets of Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. We do not have a shelter so we rely on people to open up a space in their homes to foster these cats while they wait for their forever homes. This page was formed to help facilitate adoptions for the cats in foster care. All of our cats and kittens will go to their forever homes spayed/neutered, given age appropriate shots, treated for fleas, ear mites and worms, microchipped and tested for FeLV/FIV. We generally do not take owner surrendered animals. We focus on the cats that the shelters will not help.

Meet Toby, a standup gentleman! This dashing black and white guy may be 9 years young, but he's got the energy and affection of a cat half his age! Despite being found outside, Toby's a total softie who adores people and loves to soak up attention.

With a terrific purr that'll melt your heart, Toby's ready to bring joy and companionship into your life. He's a laid-back fella who doesn't get too worked up about much - except maybe snuggling! He is very vocal and makes many different sounds.

While Toby hasn't met dogs or kids yet, we think he'd adapt well to a household with gentle furry friends or little ones. He's also happy to be an only cat or have a feline friend or two - he's pretty easy-going either way.

What makes Toby truly special is his calm and gentle nature. He's not much of a toy player, but he'll bat around a sparkle ball or crinkle ball at times. He is perfect for someone looking for a loyal companion to share quiet moments with. Toby has perfect bathroom habits, but you'll need a big litter box with high sides to accommodate this big guy.

The requests for help keep rolling in! Last night this little lady was found outside with a (presumed) warble in her neck and had lots of ants gathering around her! Thankfully one of our wonderful fosters was able to grab her and she is at the vet today. We have named her “Antsy” 💗. This little babe weighs just 1.25 pounds and quite underweight, but we are hopeful that we can get her on the road to feeling better soon! Meet Kix & Trixie: The Playful Sister Act! These adorable 3-month-old sisters, Kix (grey) and Trixie (black), are ready to steal your heart! At first, they might be a little shy, but once they get to know you, they'll be greeting you at the door for love and attention.

These little bundles of energy LOVE pets, chin rubs, and playtime! They're obsessed with feather wands and string toys, and their favorite pastime is chasing each other and wrestling like little furry siblings. They also enjoy climbing cat trees and getting the zoomies, running around the room with reckless abandon.

Kix and Trixie get along great with other cats, and they'd likely do okay with a quieter, cat-friendly dog. They're suitable for homes with respectful, calmer older children. They don't need to be adopted together! However, if adopted separately, they must go to a home with another young, playful kitty to keep them company.

WAITING SINCE 2022! Hi, we’re Huck (solid silver) and Finn (silver with white), and we would LOVE a forever home; we've been waiting so long! We are social, affectionate boys who adore our humans so we're not sure why it's taking so long!

We are now almost 8 years old and were left behind by our previous owner when they moved! Can you believe that?! We have been through a lot and need to stay together. We really rely on each other for confidence and support!

We are typical nebby cats who can’t help but follow our foster people all around the house. We have to be in the know! We love playing with catnip mice and pounce on them all throughout the house. We love sitting together in sunny spots watching the clouds and birds pass by. If you have big windows and bright spaces, we’ll be so happy!

We both adore being petted, and we love to roll over on our backs for tummy rubs. Being brushed is also the best! How else do you think we keep our fur so soft and shiny?! Speaking of shiny soft fur, Finn is on a special Z/D prescription food diet. He has some allergies that make his skin super itchy. This food and a small pill once a day help keep his skin and fur in tip top shape! We will have a prescription for both.

We would prefer to be the only cats in the home as we are not big fans of other cats. Still, with great cats like us, do you need more?! I was living with my three sisters and mom at a trailer park in Economy when the nice woman caring for me requested help. My whole family was trapped as part of a trap-neuter-return (TNR) project and it turned out that we were all sweet. Turns out that I love the indoor life!

Meet Humphrey, a gentle, playful soul who's been ready to trade in his street smarts for a life of comfort and love for more than a year now! This laid-back kitty loves to unwind in his favorite spots, watching the world go by from his window perch and snacking on tasty treats. He is treat obsessed!

Humphrey is a calm, affectionate, independent cat who prefers peaceful surroundings. If you favor cats that aren't up in your business all the time, Humphrey is your perfect guy! He likes to cuddle and snuggle for short periods, then he'll hang out near you for awhile or go his own way. He is very silly and will be your best friend for some treats. (Cats with FIV -- that’s feline immunodeficiency virus -- have a weaker immune system. All that means for you is that Humphrey needs some extra love and care, such as keeping up with yearly vet exams and watching to make sure he doesn't pick up any infections. Most FIV+ cats do not show symptoms and have a normal life expectancy, although they can be prone to secondary infections. FIV cats can live happily in a stable household with other kitties; FIV is not spread through normal casual contact, and Humphrey is happy to live amicably with other cats. Meet Ouna! Ouna is a super playful girl, approximately 3 years old. She LOVES cat nip toys and Temptations and has excellent litter box skills. Ouna will be shy to start, but once she settles in - be prepared for endless entertainment! This fun girl will race around and “hunt” for her toys - jingle bell balls, crinkle balls, and her most favorite - her beloved mouse (aka “schmousey”)! Once she is comfy with you, she loves to be brushed and will settle in on the couch to watch a movie with you!

Ouna is a proud single lady, and would strongly prefer to be the only pet in the home. Ouna would do best in a home with children over the age of 12 or with no kids, and no dogs please.

Hey my name is Tigger and I am looking for my forever home! I am an active playful guy about 12 weeks old. I was born outside, but my mom took good care of us, and then we were rescued and taken to or foster mom when we were about 5 days old. I absolutely love to play with my siblings (Pooh, Robert, Raymond and Ellie). We wrestle and run and it is a blast! I love my toys especially springs, the crinkle tube and jingle balls, (but the cat scratcher and cat tree are also fun). After I play, though, I love to be held and have my belly rubbed.

I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings (I'm particularly close with my sister Ellie!), but a home with another playful cat would also be okay (although I'd be all right alone if you give me plenty of attention!). I think I'd do well in a home with gentle, respectful children. While I've never met a dog, I think I'd be fine if introduced properly. I am a beautiful petite little tortoiseshell girl looking for my forever home! My name is Ellie, and I am about 12 weeks old. I was born outside with my brothers (Robert, Raymond, Tigger, and Pooh). I am a little shy and would do best in a quiet home. I will need patience and understanding from my forever family as I settle in and become confident. I will wrestle with my brothers, but I like to play quietly too. I like to run with my brothers. The crinkle tube, stuffed mice and springs are my favorite toys, but the cat scratcher and cat tree are great, too!

Since I love my siblings, I would love to be adopted with one of them (I'm particularly close with my brother Tigger). If not them, I would love another gentle cat or kitten to play with (but I could be by myself if you give me plenty of attention). I think I'd do OK in a home with gentle, respectful older children.
