Tiny Paws Rabbit Rescue Tiny Paws is a volunteer run rescue and sanctuary which provides loving forever homes for rabbits Tiny Paws Rabbit Rescue is a Canadian Registered Charity.

We are a Foster Based Rabbit Rescue located in Windsor On, Canada. Our mission is to rescue domestic rabbits who are stray, abandoned, injured, abused, surrendered or otherwise needing care and attention from human assistance until they can be placed in suitable adoptive homes. Those who are deemed unadoptable due to medical needs are given sanctuary status and live out their lives in the rescue.

Our "Rabbit Wrangler" Volunteers are a dedicated group of individuals that assist to help capture stray and abandoned domestic rabbits. A stray rabbit is always in need of rescuing as they do not have the instincts to survive in the wild. We do not have a physical shelter and we rely on foster homes to help us rescue rabbits in need. We believe education is the key in the adoption process. We want our animals to be loved for their entire life throughout any lifetime changes which may occur. All adopters will fill out a questionnaire and go through an interview process to find the best match for our animals. We are always in need of foster homes, volunteers and sponsors to help us continue our mission to help domestic rabbits in need. Registered Canadian Charity

Today is Giving Tuesday, a National Global Generosity Movement.

We are thankful to have a very kind and generous, anonymous donor who will be matching every dollar donated today up to $1000- for a total of $2000 in donations for our rescue animals. Every dollar counts, no matter how small. I often hear people saying that is all they have to give. But it truly helps us provide the best care for our rabbits and guinea pigs.

Although we haven't been able to intake many new rabbits this year, we still need to provide them with medical care, food and supplies. Every rabbit in our care receives a medical exam and vaccine yearly. Most of our adoptable rabbits have been in our care for more than one year, as adoptions are few and far between.

Our permanent residents, five rabbits and two guinea pigs, are in need of ongoing medical care as well, with dental procedures being the most costly. We truly appreciate every donation to help us keep them comfortable. Three of our rescues are scheduled for upcoming surgical procedures and today's donations will help greatly with those costs.

I realize that the costs of living are difficult to manage for many, including housing, groceries and necessities, especially at this time of year. However, If you are unable to donate, sharing our posts and engaging on the posts also helps too!

As a registered charity, your donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made on our website, by e-transfer, or through the CanadaHelps website directly. Please view the infographic for details on how to donate.

If you require a tax receipt for an e-transfer donation, please email [email protected]

Update on Monet, on today his 11th birthday 🥳! Happy birthday, Monet ❤️🎂

Last Friday he had his dental procedure. He had his molars trimmed, mouth examined and skull x-rays. He had a small ulcer from a molar spur, his premolars were long and adjusted to the proper length. His x-rays were relatively normal, with a few longer tooth roots. But, no signs of infection, which is good.

He's having a rougher recovery than most, though. Over the weekend he was still drooling a fair bit. This makes it harder for him to eat as he gags, and I get anxious because I think he's going to choke. He didn't really want to eat on his own. I'm still syringe feeding him, and this makes him very angry. But I'll take angry over lethargic, any day! Although his recovery is slow, I am seeing some progress. This morning he ate his softened pellets right away. But, I'll get him rechecked if he's not getting better by Wednesday.

Riesling came along for the drop off. She had her pre surgical blood work and chest X-ray. Her dental procedure is scheduled for Wednesday. Despite her messed up mouth, (missing molars), she's eating everything she can- even Monet's leftovers! It's great because she's put on a bit of weight. Her test results were all within normal range, with a slight indication that she may have an infection. We suspected that anyway. Once she's under anesthesia, Dr. Kate can get a better look. That vet bill was almost $1500. Thankfully we had a donation previously of $1300 that went towards the cost.

Tomorrow is giving Tuesday. I'll be posting a new fundraiser to help with our further dental surgeries for Riesling, Winx and Blinx. We received a very generous matching donation offer of $750. ❤️ I'll post details later today and tomorrow.

Our rabbits and guinea pigs have been good this year, and they've made wish lists for Santa Paws.
We have a few of our adoptable rabbits participating and our permanent residents.

You can view their wish lists or suggestions under their photos. If you'd like to sponsor a rabbit or a guinea pig, please comment under the picture of who you'd like to sponsor so that others know that they have been sponsored. Please only one Santa per rescue.

Please only purchase safe treats and toys. Many items aren't suitable for rabbits and guinea pigs, but they are still sold in pet stores. Avoid seeds, salt licks, corn, honey and sugary based treats.

If you require shipping, please email [email protected]

Deadline will be December 20th, so I can deliver the presents to our foster families. I'll post photos during the holidays of the rescues and their gifts.

*Frosty and Jaina will be added soon!
Thank you!

Hi Frens!
Miso here to let you know the bunnies at TPRR are getting ready for Santa Paws 🐾

Everybun here is thinking about our favourite toys and treats. Our foster Mums and Dads are going to help us make a list.
We've all been waiting a really long time for our special humans to find us. But, while we wait it's nice to feel special on Christmas morning with our foster families ❤️🎄

Stay tuned, Jen is going to share our wish lists with you later this week!

One more week until Monet's dental. 🥺
He's uncomfortable and he's not eating well on his own. I'm syringe feeding to help keep his weight up and to prevent GI Stasis. But, I wish I could make him feel better. 😞

Yesterday, our four blind sanctuary rabbits,Winx, Blinx, Riesling and Monet, visited our vet clinic.

They were all examined by Dr. Taylor, who is covering for Dr. Kate while she's on maternity leave. Monet had blood work and X-rays for his upcoming dental. We wanted to make sure that his liver and kidney values were normal prior to anesthesia. I also wanted to check his heart and lungs for any signs of heart disease. Thankfully his blood work was normal and his chest rads were too. We did discover that he has spondylosis and arthritis in most of his joints- not surprising given his age. In two weeks he will have his molar grind and skull x-rays, hopefully he will feel much better.

Blinx and Winx, our blind babies with E.Cuniculi and dental disease, were in for their exams. I suspected Winx's teeth might be bothering her. She doesn't want to eat hard pellets and has started drinking more water. Both girls are in need of dentals. Blinx's molars are long and poor Winx has a spur.

Miss Riesling, our very senior Femmie, has a whole bunch of stuff wrong with her. She just started drooling, and given that she has dental issues (missing molars) I suspected it was related to her teeth. She also has cataracts in both eyes and is blind. Of course being a bigger girl, she has arthritis and spondylosis too.
She too needs a dental! We are on a waiting list for the girls and hopefully we can get them in soon.

I also rescheduled Irwin's lump removal as it wasn't urgent, so that another client could get her bunny in for surgery, as her surgery is urgent.

Sooo, we are probably looking at a little over $5000 for all of these buns and piggy, Irwin, to have their surgeries. Thanks to the tattoo fundraiser organized by Maddie Young, Monet's medical bills will be covered. However, we will have to organize our own fundraising event. Regardless of our financial situation, we will proceed with their surgeries.

After four years and nine months in the rescue, Salem has been adopted! WOO HOO!!

Salem, originally named Licorice, was born in the rescue on August 31, 2019. His foster mom at the time adopted him when he was six months old and bonded him with her rabbit, Pika. When the family decided they had too many pets to care for, Salem and Pika were returned to the rescue in February 2021.

The boys were lovingly cared for by one of our amazing foster moms and adopters, Sarah. Sadly, Pika was euthanized in July of this year due to health issues, which left Salem all alone. He had always lived with another rabbit, and we knew he needed a new friend. During his wait, he found some comfort with his foster cat sister, Mouse, and foster dog sister, Rio.

Because Salem is a very timid boy and not especially fond of human interaction, we waited patiently for the perfect applicant. When Karen, a previous adopter, reached out to share that she had lost her senior bun and was looking for a bond mate for Kai (TPRR alum), we knew Salem might be the ideal match.

Yesterday, Karen made it official. Salem is now in his forever home and will hopefully bond with his new brother, Kai, now Kaiel.

Thank you, Sarah, for caring for both Salem and Pika as if they were your own boys. And thank you, Karen, for choosing to adopt again, even as your heart heals. You’re making two boys very happy once more.💞
