🐾 Loving Our Senior Pets 🐶🐱💛

As our pets grow older, their needs change—but their love stays the same. Senior pets bring wisdom, warmth, and a lifetime of loyalty, and they deserve all the comfort and care we can give.

✨ Senior Pet Care Tips:
🩺 Schedule regular wellness exams (at least twice a year)
🍽️ Switch to senior-appropriate diets for joint and weight support
🦴 Watch for changes in mobility, appetite, or behavior
🛏️ Provide cozy resting spots and easy access to food, water, and litter boxes
💊 Talk to your vet about supplements or pain management if needed

Your golden oldie may move a little slower, but they still have so much love to give—and every tail wag or gentle purr is a reminder of the beautiful bond you’ve built together. 💕

🐾 The Benefits of Microchipping Your Pet 🐶🐱

A tiny chip can make a huge difference in keeping your pet safe. Microchipping is a simple, quick, and permanent way to help reunite lost pets with their families. 💙

✨ Why Microchipping Matters:
✅ Permanent ID – Unlike collars or tags that can fall off, a microchip is always with your pet
✅ Increases Return Chances – Pets with microchips are over 50% more likely to be reunited with their owners
✅ Quick & Painless Procedure – It’s about the size of a grain of rice and placed under the skin
✅ Lifetime Protection – Once registered, your contact info stays linked to your pet

💡 Don't forget: Keep your contact info updated with the microchip registry to ensure you're reachable in case your pet is found!

Every year, millions of dogs go missing—but with the right tools and awareness, many can find their way back home.

🔎 How You Can Help Prevent a Lost Pet:
✅ Microchip your dog and keep your contact info updated
✅ Ensure ID tags are secure and easy to read
✅ Keep fences and gates secure at home
✅ Use a leash at all times in unfamiliar or unsecured areas

📣 If your dog ever goes missing:
✔️ Alert your local shelters and vet clinics
✔️ Post on social media and community lost pet groups
✔️ Share recent photos and important info quickly

Let’s work together to bring lost dogs home and keep our furry friends safe. 🐕💙

💉 The Importance of Vaccines for Your Pet 🐾

Vaccines are a simple and powerful way to protect your pet from serious—and sometimes fatal—diseases. Whether you have a new puppy or kitten, or a senior pet, staying up-to-date on vaccinations is essential for their lifelong health. 🐶🐱

✨ Why Vaccines Matter:
✔️ Prevent common diseases like parvovirus, distemper, and rabies
✔️ Protect against contagious illnesses in social settings (parks, boarding, grooming)
✔️ Help avoid costly emergency treatments
✔️ Required for travel, boarding, and grooming in many places
✔️ Contribute to overall community health by reducing the spread of disease

Don’t wait until your pet is exposed—prevention is always the best medicine. Talk to your vet about a personalized vaccine schedule that fits your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors.

🐾 National Parvo Awareness Day – April 22, 2025 🐶

Today marks National Parvo Awareness Day, a crucial time to spotlight the dangers of canine parvovirus (CPV)—a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease, especially for puppies.

What Is Parvo? Parvo is a virus that attacks the gastrointestinal system of dogs, leading to severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and, in many cases, death if untreated. It spreads through direct contact with infected dogs or contaminated surfaces, and it can survive in the environment for extended periods.-DVM 360

Why Awareness Matters Recent studies reveal that only about 44% of dog owners are aware of parvo, with 20% having no knowledge of the disease at all. Given that approximately 900 dogs are diagnosed with parvo daily in the U.S., increasing awareness is vital.

Prevention and Action

Vaccination: Ensure your dog is up-to-date with their parvo vaccinations.

Hygiene: Clean up after your pet promptly and disinfect areas where infected dogs have been.

Awareness: Stay informed about parvo outbreaks in your area.

Introducing ParvoTrack Elanco Animal Health has launched ParvoTrack, an online tool that allows pet owners and veterinarians to report and monitor parvo cases in real-time. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness and response to outbreaks.

We're Here to Help If you suspect your dog may have been exposed to parvo or is showing symptoms, contact us immediately.

Signs of Heat Stroke Include:
❗ Excessive panting or drooling
❗ Weakness or collapse

How to Help Prevent Heat Stroke:
✅ Provide shade & fresh water

🐣 Easter Pet Safety Tips! 🐾

Easter is a time for fun, family, and celebration—but some seasonal traditions can pose risks to our furry friends. Here are a few quick tips to help keep your pets safe this holiday! 🐶🐱💐

🚫 Avoid Easter Grass: The plastic grass in baskets can cause dangerous blockages if ingested—opt for paper filler instead.
🚫 Keep Chocolate & Candy Out of Reach: Chocolate and xylitol (found in sugar-free treats) are toxic to pets.
🚫 Skip the Lilies: These beautiful flowers are extremely toxic to cats—even a small amount can cause kidney failure.
✅ Create Pet-Safe Baskets: Use pet-safe treats and toys so your furry family members can join the fun!
✅ Supervise Around Guests: New faces, noise, and excitement can be overwhelming—create a quiet space for your pet to relax.

🐾 Enjoy a fun, festive, and safe Easter with your whole family—two- and four-legged alike! 💛
