Rockstar Rescue Rockstar Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, all-breed Phoenix dog rescue founded in 2010. EIN 45-3272239

Rockstar Rescue is a decompression & recovery facility specializing in dogs with injuries or illnesses on euthanasia lists at County shelters. Special focus is given to dogs exhibiting extreme fear, seniors, and those from hoarding situations. Rockstar's main focus in recovery is the healing of psychological traumas experienced by dogs from these situations, transforming each dog we intake, from abused and neglected victim to “ROCKSTAR”.

Not one to run from criticism, hide from controversy, or pretend everyone loves me, this Reddit "exposé" was brought to my attention and I figured I'd give it the attention it deserves.

First, the title alone is fantastic.

"Self-aggrandizing." "Self-pitying."

Anyone who has met me for more than five minutes is probably laughing as hard as I am. If anything, I've spent the last sixteen years talking more about the dogs than myself.

But let's move on.

The author appears to have invested a truly impressive amount of time documenting Libby's life with Rockstar Rescue. And when I say impressive, I mean *impressive*. We're talking references to his training, his sleepover in Prescott, his time at Heidi's Village, surgeries, fundraising posts, adoption efforts, and events dating back years.

Frankly, I've never had a stalker this committed.

The problem is... much of it is wrong.

According to this "investigation":

🐾 Libby remained at Heidi's Village for the rest of his life. He didn't. 🤣

🐾 We removed Libby from Petfinder to work on social issues. We didn't. 🤣

🐾 We purchased two billboards to market Libby. We never did. 🤣

🐾 We posted about a shoulder mass and needed donations to investigate it. That never happened either. 🤣

And those are just a few examples.

So after spending what appears to have been countless hours collecting screenshots dating back to 2020, the author somehow still managed to get basic facts wrong.

That's quite an achievement. 🏆

What I find most amusing is that this person clearly cared enough about Libby to dedicate an extraordinary amount of time to following his story. If only they had cared enough to actually meet him, work with him, foster him, advocate for him, or help find him a home.

Instead, they chose Reddit. 🤷‍♀️

For those unfamiliar with Libby, he was a fear-aggressive, redirection dog. The exact type of dog many rescues avoid. The exact type of dog Rockstar Rescue has spent sixteen years trying to help. Anyone who has worked with enough county-shelter dogs knows there are no guarantees. Sometimes you win. Sometimes despite years of effort, training, medical care, networking, fundraising, and support, you don't.

The funniest part is the idea that this post somehow "exposes" Rockstar Rescue.

Exposes what?

That we publicly posted updates about Libby?

That we spent years trying to help him?

That we were transparent about his struggles?

That we shared his journey with our supporters?

Guilty as charged.

To whoever "PetRescueExposed" is: thank you for your dedication. Few people have followed Libby's life as closely as you apparently did. It's just unfortunate that after all that research, your fact-checking department appears to have taken the day off.

If you have some spare time, give the article a read.

After all, they worked really hard on it.

🐕 Stray Café Dog Lounge Experience Update 🐕

The Dog Lounge Experience project has been a project I've wanted to do for years, and it's finally becoming a reality!

We're still planning for an August 1st opening (Subject to change) And we're still looking for more rescue’s to partner with. (We have FIVE so far)

The Dog Lounge Experience, for those who may have missed our original announcement, is a new program being developed by Rockstar Rescue under the Stray Café brand.

Think of it as a comfortable, living-room-style space where guests can spend time interacting with adoptable rescue dogs in a relaxed, climate-controlled environment.

What it IS:
🐾 A place to meet adoptable dogs
🐾 A place to learn about local rescue organizations
🐾 A place to relax, connect, and enjoy spending time with dogs
🐾 A place where a different Rescue Partner organization is featured throughout the month

What it is NOT:
🚫 A dog park
🚫 A daycare
🚫 A boarding facility
🚫 A kennel
🚫 A place where guests bring their own dogs

Only carefully selected, temperament-tested dogs from approved Rescue Partners will participate.

Our goal is simple: create a unique experience that helps more dogs get seen, more rescues get supported, and more connections turn into adoptions.

We're getting closer every day and can't wait to share more updates as development continues!

POPPY UPDATE 🌸

Our girl is doing GREAT! She's learning to walk on her surgery leg more and more, and her broken jaw, fitted with her "retainer" seems to be doing its job.
It doesn't bother her eating or drinking and I think she looks cute with it 💕

Looky who we got to visit.... Mr. Achilles 💙

For those who don't know/remember, Achilles belonged to a man named Al. Al and Achilles lived on the streets and we helped and monitored the two for a DECADE!

I first met the duo in 2014. I provided leashes, booties, vaccines, collars, bedding, food and an open door for Achilles at all times.
Al allowed us to microchip Achilles, which saved his life more than once.

Eight times throughout the years Al found himself hospitalized, arrested, or otherwise incapacitated, and Achilles was always taken to County. Being microchipped to the rescue, we were the ones called, and ALWAYS got him even if we were full. That was the promise I made Al for allowing us to microchip Achilles.

Once Al was hit by a car and suffered severe injuries which led him to be hospitalized for four months. Be kept Achilles throughout that time, and even took him to the hospital to visit his Daddy.

In 2024 we got the call again that Achilles was at County. We picked him up and awaited Al's call or arrival to retrieve him. But days turned to weeks, and months, and we realized Al wasn't coming. Soon after we learned Al had passed 😔

Achilles stayed with us for 4 months and the amazing happened. He got adopted! A nearly 12yo Pitbull, who lived on the streets his whole life, now had permanent air conditioning, a soft bed, consistent food, and he even had sleepovers with his "Nana" in his new pajamas 🤣💙

I reached out last week, semi-nervous due to his age, to see how he was doing, and we were invited to come visit.

Achilles is now 13-14yo and a bit senile, but after some time, did remember us, and I feel, enjoyed our visit.

He's on lots of meds, has Sundowners, and yoga mats throughout the house to help him walk, but his bloodwork is good and he's a happy boy.

It's rescues like this one, where you see your time, patience and determination pay off! ❤️
