This is Cavalli. Isnāt he handsome??? This was my bodywork āpatientā today. I am purposely not showing you his hocks because it would make you sad. Seeing them made me sad. His story was sad, too. You see, Cavalli was a very successful show jumper. He won. A lot. He gave all. And when his body began to show signs of stress from the sport, instead of giving him a chance to heal or try a less stressful career his hocks were regularly injected. A lot. Thus began the breakdown until even injections didnāt work and actually contributed to the decline. He could no longer perform much less win. And so he was cast aside. Like too many when they can no longer perform. And that is sad. But for Cavalli his story has a good ending. Heās one of the fortunate ones. He has ended up in the hands of the wonderful couple who own New Beginnings Horse Haven Farm. Therefore instead of this being a sad ending, for Cavalli itās a bright, new beginning. A chance at the retirement he earned. So weāre not going to focus on his horribly deformed, damaged hocks nor his suspensory ligament problem. Weāre going to celebrate that he will retire with love, affection, and in an environment that is focused on healing, recovery and comfort. This guy has a lot of life left in him! Luckily he landed softly in the care of the very fine folks that are giving him that chance to live it. We celebrate you, Cavalli! We thank you Jerry & Lisašš
