Going back to my 1st night, I was very scared to come to a new place. My soon to be new mommy was very nice, but I was still scared. She put me in a room where I had my own bed and food and potty place, so I slept in a corner of my bed, on the floor. The next morning, she wanted to feed me and I was hungry, but scared. I jumped on the sofa she was sitting on, and she fed me there. That felt ok, so I ate a lot! That was 12/11/14.

Hi Mabel Fans - I'm very sorry I haven't posted info about myself in a loooonnnngggg time! Truth is, I've been busy growing and learning things in the last couple months. I promise to keep up more in the future, and watch this week, as my mommy said she took a lot of videos and pictures, and will be catching you up with all my big life steps. I can tell you, I am a happy girl, and learning new things daily!

I had a very big day today! I've been looking through this gate all week and see my big sisters with Mommy and Daddy, and today, Mommy opened the gate and let me come see what was going on there. At first I was kinda scared, but my big sis Special was out there, and I met her a few times in my safe room, plus Mommy put some tasty treats out I had to go try, and made me forget where I was. Next thing I knew, I was in this big room she calls the Living Room! I had to get used to it, but I got to meet Special out there, and then Mommy and Daddy brought in big sis Cassie and big sis Lois separately. Cassie was really nice and we even played a little bit. Lois wasn't very happy with me, so I guess I'm going to have to be nice and grow on her. I got to sniff around by myself and even saw another big room called a Bedroom... It smelled like everyone slept in there, so I'm hoping I get there someday! That was enough for one day, though, so now I'm resting in my safe room. It was a very big day and can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

I don't know exactly what's on the other side of this gate, but I do know Daddy gives treats to the other big dogs out there, and I want some! So I am learning to sit here and wait my turn, and one of the big girls named Lois comes to see me at the gate. It's not so bad! Maybe I can get out of here this week... If I just get a little braver! So far so good, though!

Hi there! A couple of you have wondered why I quit posting, and I apologize... It was just so busy at Christmas, I didn't get the chance! However, I have tons to tell now, and will over the next few days. I found out Christmas is fun because I got a lot of treats and presents. Missed Mommy and Daddy that day because they had to be gone, but I slept and was a good girl. Then yesterday we really got to play, and so I took these selfies with Mommy. My Christmas present to her was licks on her face... I don't know why, but she really seemed to like it, so I did good! :)

Mabel - aka Meadow - was left in a drain hole about 5 ft. down. Thankfully, a property owner saw her and Ruff Love Rescue got involved after police and local authorities never came upon request. Thanks to Ruff Love Rescue, Mabel is now in her forever home.... OURS! :) We are working on socializing her, and our 3 dogs will do the same, once she's ready. She's sweet and funny, just needing time to adjust. However, she makes big strides every day, and here I will record her progress. For those dealing with - or about to deal with - a dog that has been neglected or abused, and needs special patience to trust and socialize again, hopefully this will help you understand the timeline of how things occur. Each pet is different, but the process is similar, and in every single case I've seen, they realize their rescue and award you with unconditional love and loyalty!
