Bella update.

Background: Bella, is an aggressive, formerly-abused, tortoiseshell cat we rescued in September of 2023.

As of my previous Bella update, she had begun warming up to my husband, Dan...which was unusual, since she had been more reactive and aggressive with men than with women.

The running joke in our house became that Bella is Dan’s new love: the way she follows him around, and seeks to be near him most of the time, the way she runs to greet him when he comes home.

And now...well, the photos speak for themselves.

Jorah's surgery has been postponed until June 16. :(

I got a call from Jorah's surgeon today. I thought it would be the usual reminder call for Jorah's surgery tomorrow.
No.
It was a call to say they're postponing Jorah's surgery until June 16th.
Apparently, they've had a few emergencies come in, so Jorah’s surgery is now scheduled for June 16th.
I'm trying to focus on the fact that this gives me more time for fundraising, but I'd rather have the surgery behind us and continue to fundraise afterward. If my pet had a sudden emergency however, I'm sure I'd want them made a priority too.
The important thing is that Jorah gets his surgery. Hang in there, lil’ Jo!

In Memory of Ivy...

I started this page because, of all the rescues and fosters we've had, Ivy and her story has touched more people than any other. Whenever I posted a picture of her on my personal page, she got more likes and comments than anything I could post about boring ol' me! My husband said, "Ivy needs her own page!"...and he was right; Ivy's story is definitely one that needed telling! After we lost Ivy to a terminal bone disease at only 14 months old, I thought I would simply delete her page, but we kept it going, so that we can continue to tell the stories of the other cats who come to our rescue, many of them being special needs cats, as Ivy was. Thanks for following!
