🐾📈We thought we'd share some statistics for you! 📉🐾
One of our lovely admin has recently been doing her best to keep count of how many animals are saved from the pound each month, the average comes out to approximately 64!
July alone saw a whopping of 106 saves!
Although this is a beautiful thing seeing rescues being able to step up and save so many, it's sad that there is this many animals going through the system to begin with... so many litters, so many surrenders, it is truly never ending!

These poor souls will find themselves in there for weeks & months. The pound is constantly reaching capacity.
If we average 64 per month that's a minimum of 768 animals per year. If you don't think that's a lot, try filling a yard with that many animals, or a street or a property, even a suburb here in CQ. it would just be simply impossible to do or sustain!

📞 Did you know you can meet the animals at the AMC?
Phone the team and arrange a meet and greet for any animal you're interested in and you can also bring your own existing dog with you to meet as well, this is highly recommended.

🩺 Desex your pets! Rescues have desexing programs that offer discounted desexing to those in need, spread the word.
📘 Microchip your pets and keep details up to date - help some of these animals that are lost, find their way home
🐕🦺 Source every alternative before surrendering, don't just give up on your animals.
🐶 Foster for a local rescue - Rescues can't take in more animals with no foster carers!
💰 Donate to a local rescue - Rescues can't save animals with no funds to care or vet them!
👫 Volunteer with a local rescue - Rescues can't operate without volunteers, even the smallest job done is truly a huge help!
📲 Share posts for animal rescues, this helps more than you know!
🐱 ADOPT A RESCUE ANIMAL - All animals deserve a second chance! Some have been waiting months and years for that furever home.
💍 If you can't offer an animal a lifetime commitment, do not get the animal. Do you research on the responsibility before getting an animal beforehand. They can be hard work and require love, attention and upkeep! Physically, medically and mentally.
