Today we lost one of the three mares that started all of this. Miss Belle had a good 25 years! She was a sweetheart and the definition of a gentle giant. She was always happy for some extra pats and kept an eye on me when I was anywhere nearby. She will definitely be missed.

Fourteen years is still not long enough. Toby was a good dog and made many people smile in his day.

Some memories of him include:
▪︎ His love for rides in the truck and in later years, the cart
▪︎ The compassion he showed for my cousin with cancer 💙
▪︎ Him chasing rabbits and finding their nests 🙃
▪︎ Being sprayed by a skunk WAY too often
▪︎ Finding dead critters, especially around deer season
▪︎ His "walkabouts" when he would disappear and I couldn't hear/nor see him...hence the bell 😅
▪︎ Riding on the school bus once after said "walkabouts" 😆
▪︎ His favorite two treats were popcorn and ice
▪︎ Us running circles around the kitchen table which led to him jumping on top of it 🤭
▪︎ Getting so excited when mom squealed listening to a ballgame on the radio that he jumped on the bed and immediately got down
▪︎ Tagging along with me wherever I went, whenever he could 💙

My dear old Toby dog is fourteen. He can't hear, so the mower doesn't bother him anymore and he'll ride with me. His sight is all but gone. He wears a bell, so I can tell where he's at when he decides to adventure. He's brought joy to many people through the years, and still makes me smile everyday when he follows me around...though he's a little slower than he once was. 💙

It's never easy to lose one, but I think it stings a little more when it's one you've had since they hit the ground. Roscoe lived a good, lazy life...I always joked he would've made a good horse had he ever had a job. Looking back, I think his job was to bring smiles to me and to many others who had their first ride on him, and he was definitely good at that. He went through many shenanigans and was always a good sport, we've got the pictures to prove that! Definitely gonna miss the ole bo**er.
