Oklahoma Collie/Sheltie Rescue We are a small army of volunteers dedicated to help Collies and Shelties in need. We provide foster and end of life care for dogs in our program.

Rescuing our beloved breeds in OK, since 1999 (but originally started in California, in 1970!). We are a foster based organization, so we do not have a primary location. We have contacts all over OK, to help Collies and Shelties in need at any time. You can get in touch with us through FB messaging, or our email at [email protected]. We no longer publicly list our rescue phone number, due to the high number of solicitations. If you need us - let us know.

Remember, sidewalks and concrete are exceptionally hot for your dog's foot pads, cars can reach 150+ degrees, and shade and lots of water are a must for any time spent outside. Imagine going outside wearing a fur coat today. That's how miserable your pets will be in this heat, so please keep them inside and check water levels throughout the day as the go out to potty. Stay safe! 🐾💕

Another HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for Sunday. Stay safe and keep cool!

The Shetland Sheepdog, also known as the Sheltie, is an extremely intelligent, quick, and obedient herder from Scotland's remote and rugged Shetland Islands.

Why do you love the breed?

Thankful this precious pup was found! Folks should know dogs escape electric fences all the time - and most often won't come back because of the jolt (seems to hurt more when they are not distracted by something more interesting that's leading them outside of the boundary).
We adopted to a family with an electric fence. Months later we stopped for a visit. A bicyclist went by their house, the dog we adopted out - who had been trained and was wearing the collar for the electric fence - took off after that cyclist for almost half a mile.
We stopped adopting to homes with electric fences after that, as once you see a dangerous situation like that unfold before your eyes, you realize putting a dog in a potentially dangerous situation, is not worth the risk.
Glad this pup is safe and warm once again. 💕
