It is important to understand that hormonal behaviors are a natural part of our biology and not a sign of us being a bad bird. Sometimes we're happy and sometimes we're loud. Sometimes, we are frustrated, and no touching is allowed. We make a big mess, and we like to destroy. We'll bite on anything, even if it's not a toy. We need to have companionship, fresh foods & the ability to fly. Our bodies are complex & delicate, so lifestyle changes are needed to make sure we don't accidentally die. We are technically wild animals, living in a human’s household. It's not natural for us to only eat, sleep, and do what we are told. There'll be times you will be angry with us, just remember we didn't choose this life. So you'll have to accept our wild traits and behaviors, or we'll both be living in strife. We are captive birds trying to be our very best. Adjusting to making your home our nest. A place where both of us can lay our heads to rest. ~ Yaga 💚

Helping a Blind Parrot

I may not be able to see, but I know when Ma says "lunch time," there's always something yummy in front of me! 👅 Providing a secure environment with consistent routines is important when raising a blind parrot. Keep our cage set up the same, placing food & water dishes in the same spot each day. Keep things low in the cage to reduce the impact of accidental falls & use verbal cues to help us navigate! ~ Stedman 😍
