The Shelter Pet Studio The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping pets find forever homes through photography & other media. Sharing is caring 💞🐾

Partnering with other organizations, primarily Stark County Dog Warden in Canton OH, we work to end pet homelessness. The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping pets find their forever homes through professional photography, videography, and social media. Our team of passionate volunteers creates beautiful, genuine portraits that showcase each pet’s unique personality—off

ering a view far different from the scared or anxious faces they wear in a kennel. Since our founding, we’ve helped hundreds of pets put their best paw forward, connecting them with loving families. Our mission goes beyond just photography; we partner with other nonprofits to promote their adoptable pets and amplify their efforts. We believe that only by working together can we truly tackle pet homelessness in our community. Thank you for helping us continue this important work! Do you know a dog or cat that needs some "extra oomph" to find a home? We will work with any shelter or rescue in and around the Akron-Cleveland Area. Email us at [email protected]

Puppies!

🐾How have these two adorable puppies been with us for two weeks already with no interest?? 🐾
NORM & CLIFF arrived so un socialized that we couldn’t even touch them. Now Norm gives the most kisses and Cliff is loving belly rubs. Perhaps another dog friend in the house to help them learn how to dog and understand what is expected of them? Bring the family to meet these cuties soon! They don’t want to spend another night at the shelter!

Puppies are just $110 with purchase of a lifetime license. $250 total and you don’t have to worry about renewing your license ever again!!

We have no history on stray dogs.
Please bring your family and other pets to meet them and see if they are a good fit for you.**Please prepare to crate your pets for the ride home. We do not allow newly adopted dogs to ride in the car without being properly separated from their new friends **
Decompression and patience are the keys to success when adopting a shelter dog.

Former Stark County Dog Warder resident Frisky was rescued by Forty Corners Animal Rescue and needs help finding her forever home ideally before the rescue closes. They did a lot to help Stark County and we thank them! 🙏 PLEASE SHARE 🐶💞 this wonderfully happy girl!

FROM THE RESCUE:
“How has this sweet angel not found a loving forever home?! Frisky is the whole package from wiggly butt to huge smile. She has so much personality squeezed into a little bitty body! Frisky is around 4 years old, spayed and current on vaccines. She has not had an easy life, but she doesn’t let it get her down. At some point, Frisky was hit by a car. As a result, she has a broken leg that didn’t heal properly. She doesn’t let it slow her down at all! Frisky also has some minor incontinence issues that she takes medication for. This amazing girl has waited so long for her forever home. Now it is her turn! Frisky is available for adoption through Forty Corners Animal Rescue. Please share, share, share to help Frisky find her forever home!”

Handsome Louie got a lot of attention from is video (see comments) but he is still hoping his best day ever is coming soon 🙏🏼 He was here previously and was taken home by his family. Unfortunately, this time, they never showed. 💔 He's taken it pretty hard and is struggling at the pound. It appears he's begun licking his paws and legs from stress and boredom. He has too much energy and love to stay cooped up inside a kennel all day.

Louie is only around 2 years old and loves to play with his toys. He keeps his kennel clean and is a big fan of praise and attention. 😊 He gets overstimulated with petting and attention and runs zoomies around the playpen. He’s trying SO hard to be a good boy, he just needs a little minute to calm down before being judged. The shelter reports he had a good meet n greet with some kiddos. ❤️

If you have an active home and are looking for a fun, loving, and playful pup to brighten your days... Please consider giving Louie the home he deserves. The home that would never leave him behind. 💕 Please bring all family members to meet him (cats in a hard carrier) to make sure he’s set up for success.

Every dog comes with donated, free training sessions with local trainers: Cosmic K9 (2 sessions) and Hoperidge RTA (1 session). Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of 3s: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel at home..

PHILLY is a 3 year old, 58 lb boy who is here to remind you that this is the whole point. Saving lives by rescuing and adopting, volunteering, fostering, and helping with your local animal shelters. He arrived positive for Heartworm and without the help of Stark County Dog Warden, he would be in rough shape by now. He is being treated, but would love to recover in a loving, quiet home. He will need his second month's injections soon which the pound will assist with. Thanks to the pound, he is finally receiving the care he's needed all along.
But Philly is still searching for a family to love and care for him. He is fun loving, happy, and so sweet. He enjoys his walks and being outside rolling in the grass. He hopes that someone special sees this video and comes so he never has to suffer or be alone again. 💖

Fingers crossed that THIS is the week our longest resident, Frazier, finds his forever home. 🤞 If you can't adopt, could you please share this post to spread the word?

Frazier is an 8-year-old, 56-pound pit bull terrier mix who has been with us since May of 2022. That’s right, he’s been hoping for a home for three years.

When Frazier was first found as a stray, he had extensive injuries and needed urgent care. Thanks to MedVet and our team, he healed beautifully. Now he's the staff favorite with his playful energy, sweet cuddles, and silly personality. 💙

Three years is a long time to wait, but Frazier has never given up hope. Let’s help him finally find the comfort, care, and companionship he deserves.

Visit the Humane Society of Summit County at 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, OH 44313 to meet him or call us at 330-487-0333 ext. 803 to learn more!

Our adoption hours are 11pm - 6pm on weekdays, and 11am - 5pm on weekends.

Max, a big, squishy sweetheart, is still waiting to find his forever home! 🐾💙

At around a year old and 73 lbs, Max still has some growing to do and plenty of extra skin that makes him even more lovable during cuddle time! He came in a little nervous but has since found his confidence and now shines with personality.

Max is full of energy and doesn’t quite know his size yet, so leash training will be a must. Being cooped up at the shelter definitely doesn’t help! Give him time to settle and he’ll reward you with fun, joy, and affection. 🎾

He loves chasing toys, is learning how to fetch, and already knows “sit” (even if he pretends not to sometimes 😂). Very treat motivated and loves being around people. Visit to learn more!
