Meet Eira – Your Next Adventure Buddy and Cuddle Queen! 🐾

Say hello to Eira, a stunning 15-month-old Great Dane/Poodle mix with a heart as big as her paws! This sweet girl has settled beautifully into her foster home and is blossoming into the loving, loyal companion she was always meant to be.

Eira is smart, eager to please, and already knows her basic commands both on and off leash. She’s a fast learner who wants nothing more than to make her humans proud. Her playful, youthful energy makes her a great match for an active family who enjoys hiking, exploring, and outdoor fun — but don’t worry, she’s just as happy to curl up on the couch for a cozy movie night.

She’s crate trained, but she also sleeps peacefully outside of it at night. Eira’s still learning the ropes when it comes to understanding boundaries with smaller animals (like little dogs or cats), so she would thrive best with a medium or large doggie friend who can match her energy and help show her the way.

While she may be a bit shy at first and occasionally cautious with new experiences, Eira’s confidence is growing every day. With a patient, loving family, she continues to prove how adaptable and resilient she truly is.

Introducing Chimney - new foster boy with Great Dane Friends. He will be getting a new name for a new life though.
He has significant scarring from having his muzzle tied shut 6 mths ago when AC found him. His owners at the time paid the fine and took him back. They then abandoned him in the middle of nowhere tied to a tree with no shelter or water- although they deny doing it. Anyway…all good things for Chimney now.
He is about 7 yrs old, HW negative, walks fairly well on leash, knows sit, down, and paw. Needs human socialization to learn that people are trustworthy. Seems to be good with other dogs though! Stay tuned as we get to know him better! He is being fostered in Asheville NC. If interested in him email us at [email protected]

Welcome Hazel! Hazel is a 7 yr old spayed female that came to us when her owner had to go to hospice. She is understandably very confused and right now keeps looking at the door :(. She is very sweet but needs some decompression time. She has been great with other dogs and doesn't care about the foster cat. She has lived with kids and was totally fine and while with her owner she lived with a bird she was also fine with. She needs to lose a little weight but otherwise is in great shape. Stay tuned as we get to know her!

Our handsome boy Declan was adopted today! Declan came to us about 3 1/2 weeks ago when his owner could no longer care for him. He didn't even make the websites because we had the perfect home waiting for him! Have a GREAT life sweet boy...you have an AMAZING new home!!!

Our sweet boy Astro ( now called Spaceman 🤣 ) has officially been adopted! He came to us with a broken leg and had surgery and is now all healed and cleared for ALL the fun things and now his foster family made it official that he is home! Have a GREAT life to the bestest boy!!!

Welcome Archer! Archer is a 7 yr old male neutered Dane that came to us as an owner surrender. He was extremely attached to the wife in his previous home so he is still a bit sad and unsure of his new foster home. The family had a baby and the parents were divorcing and neither could take Archer :( He didn't eat for the first day or two but is doing much better now. He is trustworthy in the house, potty trained, good with other dogs, cats and chickens. He is very nervous around small kids so only kids 12 yrs and up would be a good fit for this guy. Once he knows you're his person he loves to cuddle and snuggle. He's not sure of his new foster sister yet... she wants to play and he's not ready yet but his previous owner said that once he's used to a dog he loves to play! Archer is being fostered in Jacksonville NC. Once he settles in a bit and we get him to the vet to get his vaccines updated and a wellness check done he will be available for adoption. Our sweet Jett STILL has not found her forever home! We don't understand WHY??? She is such a GREAT all around girl that makes the perfect brewery or winery buddy and loves everyone she meets! She is especially great with kids and does fantastic with other dogs! She is house and crate trained and loves to go for rides! She is the TOTAL package people! Please help us find Jett's forever...L!ke and S her all over!!! She is about 10 months old now and such an awesome girlie!

Meet Eira and Sylvie! These girls are 15 month old Dane/ Poodle mixes who came into the rescue as owner surrenders. They are fairly typical “teenage” dogs- full of s***k and energy and occasional stubbornness. Sylvie is is the more shy of the 2 but Eira can also be a little shy and fearful of new situations but warms up quickly and is eager to please. They know some basic commands but both girls would do best with a family dedicated to continued training - especially leash work. In their first home they was over zealous with the little dogs and cats so would likely do best in a home with dogs closer to their size. Some of this was also because of them being littermates and being more bonded to each other than the other animals in the home or the people. Littermate syndrome is REAL and it makes training very difficult. This is why both girls were separated and put in different foster homes and will not be adopted together! They have been good with the larger dogs in their foster homes and continue to gain confidence. Their ideal forever family, is with a family who is active and loves being outside or doing doggie mental stimulation activities. As luck would have it both girls went into heat not long after arriving so they will have to finish their heat cycles and then wait 6 weeks before we can spay them. So...stay tuned as we get to know them better and they should be available for adoption in about 8-10 weeks. Both are being fostered in Raleigh NC.
