I offer a variety of classes, private in home training, behavior consulting, owner/breed consulting, dog sport classes and pet therapy with my dog Buddy. I was one of those kids that was born with that “horse/dog gene” or “anything with fur” my mother would say! I think I have had almost every animal a little girl could have or rather that my parents would have let me have (believe me I would have
had more!). As a young child, life was best when I was on the back of a horse with my best friend Colleen, ba****ck of course, up the mountains, through fields and swimming in ponds in the beautiful Naples-Cohocton area. Those experiences taught me the value of friendship and how our pets and animals can have a vital impact on our own personal growth and also in developing lifelong friendships. I believe that God created animals to give us an opportunity to learn a great deal about ourselves through our relationships with them...teaching us patience, balance, discipline, love and the value of having a purpose in life. As a married, mother of three grown children and three grandchildren I decided to venture out and take my life experiences of training animals and earn my certification through the Animal Behavior College. In 2010 I became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. I have personally trained dozens dogs and taught their owners with a balanced training approach. I understand that each person and pet relationship is unique, but the ultimate goal of bonding and building a better connection is the same. As a core-volunteer at the City of Rochester Verona Street Shelter, I have donated hundreds of hours and have personally trained and worked with hundreds of dogs, matching many to their new families. The variety, size and age of the breeds at the shelter has provided me invaluable knowledge in temperaments and behaviors giving me insight into varied training techniques. I personally have enjoyed training my own and other dogs in agility, fly-ball, canine good citizenship and therapy certification. I have two registered therapy dogs and I am also certified in Animal First Aid and CPR.
