Why do I live somewhere that can get down to -50°F (-46°C) wind chill in the winter, and above 100°F (38°C) in the summer. Why am I here

This show pad + shirt combo = chef’s kiss

We took Melody & Simon, two of my students’ horses, to the saddle fitter today — I had to leave to go do lessons at another barn shortly after we got back, but Elsie (Simon’s owner) sent me a pic of Mesa in her trailer… he loaded himself 3 times while she was cleaning her trailer out 😂 I think he likes going on trips!! (Also, look at how nice his tail is 🤯)

Mesa’s first time in the cross ties, and he was very good about it 🥰 he’s still getting used to being hosed down (I told him he’ll enjoy it when it’s 100°F/38°C this weekend) so we did some r+ work on it today and he did well with having his front legs, shoulder and chest sprayed — we’re making progress! 🫶🏼

I had to take my truck into the shop for the 4th freaking time in two weeks because one of the new speed sensors ended up being faulty and triggering my traction control randomly on the interstate 🤩 they got it replaced so hopefully everything with my truck will be good for a while, both for my sanity and my wallet’s sake lol

My 4H kiddos have a show Sunday, and .krg9010 () is gonna do in hand trail with Mesa! Chaco will also be at the show with his lease kid, + one of my other students is doing the cowgirl queen competition with him :)

In honor of the pinto world show going on right now — here’s a throwback to our world show experience in 2019 🫶🏼 winning 3 reserve world titles with my heart horse, my little $950 trail pony, will forever the highlight of my show career.

Swipe for Mesa (somewhat aggressively 💀) grooming his new bestie, Coco 🥹 Coco is a 27 y/o AQHA gelding that my friend .vb is leasing for the summer, and he is SUCH a sweetheart. He and Chaco are best friends and are now co-parenting Mesa (just in time for pride month 🏳️‍🌈) 😌

Chaco always looks offended the second I give an ounce of attention to anyone other than him (you can imagine how offended he was when I abandoned him for a week and then came back with little baby Mesa last fall)

It’s so fun to show against my students when they reach the adult division 🥰 I’ve known Liv (in the first pic) for so many years and gotten to watch her evolve as a rider and a person!

My boys were hanging out together a little extra today, so have some photos of them being cutie pies together 🫶🏼 it was a toasty day today, but .krg9010 and I each taught 3 lessons, and I rode Cutr and Elmer! I also pine sol-ed the barn and paddock fences, which is supposed to help with flies — I do think it’s helping a little bit!

The resident sorrel gelding gang went on a little ride today — I rode Elmer, a horse I have in for training, Bella rode Laredo, and rode Simon! All 3 of the derpy boys did great ✨

Lost a stirrup but just happy to be zooming on my Chaco taco 🫶🏼
