Meet Hermit!

This adorable young adult terrier is now ready for adoption!

We continued seeing his photo pop up on the rescue list with a note stating if no rescue interest he needs to be "moved through." He was too scared to come out from under his bed he was even dragging his food under there to eat in his safe place. At that point we decided Copper’s Dream would be his rescue interest.

Hermit is coming out of his shell slowly but surely and his fun, happy personality is starting to shine. It didn't take long to discover Hermit is completely deaf. While it can be a bit more challenging especially with a nervous dog, Hermit is definitely proving he is worth it.

We are half way to our end of year goal and hope you can help us get there.

Help us end 2025 STRONG by hitting our $80,000 Emergency Medical Fund goal before December 31st. This will help us recover from expenses we have incurred this year while also starting the new year with a safe cushion that ensures we can immediately cover life-saving surgeries, critical care, and urgent diagnostics for every dog that needs us in the New Year.

Welcome to rescue Mouse.

This little sweet innocent baby came in as an owner surrender. Unsure of the outside world and suffering from severe mange. These types of rescues are always near and dear to our hearts and we couldn't pass on helping Mouse.

Demodex is a non-contagious mange. There is no risk to other pets or humans and pretty straight forward to treat. We see it often in rescue, especially with pittie mixes. If anyone is ever interested in fostering a pup with mange or have questions please reach out. Seeing the amazing transformation is such a rewarding experience.

Our Story

Hi! Do you believe in second chances? Root for the underdog? Want to make a difference? You came to the right place. Whether it’s adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating - there are lots of ways to help out dogs in need.

We’re Copper's Dream Animal Rescue, and we focus our work on saving dogs who are most in need in overwhelmed shelters and finding them loving homes. All of our dogs live in volunteer foster homes until adopted, where we learn more about them, spay/neuter, vaccinate, and help find them their perfect human match.

Since our founding (inspired by a dog named Copper), we’ve saved over 4,600 dogs. And we couldn’t have done that without an amazingly dedicated team of volunteers, our superhero foster homes, our generous donors, and loving adopters.
