Happy Valentines Day

Signs your cat loves you:
Purring - they purr when they are relaxed and content
Slow Blinks - one of the clearest ways a cat demonstrates they trust you
Showing their belly - a clear sign they are looking for a rub
Gift Giving - cats are natural hunters if they bring you a "gift" accept this as a sign of affection
Head But and Cheeky Rubs - cat “boops” with their forehead or a cheek rub is an indication they have marked you as safe

Does your Maine C**n love the snow?
Naturally, a cat with an abundance of thick, long fur would be the obvious choice for colder locations, making the Maine C**n an ideal pet.

How cold is too cold for a Maine C**n? Even these fluffy felines, with their long fur and bushy tails, can only sustain freezing temperatures to a point. Although this breed is quite tolerant to the cold, your cat shouldn’t be outside in temperatures of 12°F (-11°C) for long periods.

Some features of the Maine C**n that enhance its ability to withstand cold weather include:

Dense, water-resistant coat
Built-in snowshoes
Permanent fluffy scarf
Its enormous size

Send photos of your Maine C**n in the snow :)

Did you know: Mrs. Norris is an important animal character in the Harry Potter books. J.K. Rowling described her as a scrawny, dust-colored creature with bulging, lamp-like eyes.'
In the Harry Potter films, all the tricks needed for the filming were split between 6 different Maine C**n cats playing Mrs. Norris!

Fun Facts about Maine C***s!

* The most unique feature about the Maine C**n cat is, of course, its bushy tail, which is normally the same length as its body; you'll often find that they wrap their tails around them to keep warm!
* The Maine C**n is waterproof! It has a waterproof topcoat that protects them against wet and bleak climates.
* They are polydactyl cats which means that they have more toes than average cats. This also means that their paws are snowshoe-like, which also helps them navigate extreme snowy conditions.
* Maine C***s have tufted ears, long uneven fur and feathery tails. Their fur is longer around their neck, giving them the appearance of a small lion!
* Maine C***s have a naturally slow growth rate and don't reach their full size until they are about 3 to 5 years old.
* Maine C***s are great at climbing, it is important to make sure they have the opportunity to climb indoors so wide, sturdy shelves are required!
