The holiday season is upon us, which means our 5th Annual Jingle Bells & Waggin’ Tails is right around the corner!

We have merged our fundraisers together for one fun-filled, family weekend! Vendor and Sponsor applications are currently open, and 5K and fun run registration will open soon. Now an official event, we are so grateful for our continued partnership and support of the Cox Running family.

TODAY IS THE DAY! Every dollar donated today benefits the five amazing dogs that we have currently in our care. Speckles, Chevy, Pluto, Nemo, and Rosie are thankful for every like, share, and dollar.

Love & Paws Rescue has been taking it slow, stopping intakes and focusing on the dogs that we have. Our goal is always to ensure quality over quantity. We have been working hard to ensure that these dogs have everything they need prior to finding their forever homes! They get professional training all the way to routine annual care. All of this takes funds!

TOMORROW is North Texas Giving Day! 💕🐾

You may not recognize this dog, but Chevy was adopted from Love & Paws Rescue when he was just a few months old. It’s been almost 3 years and he is unfortunately being returned. As you know, we always take our dogs back. North Texas Giving Day is a day to not only support our long-time residents that have been looking for their homes for years, but it is also to support the dogs that will be returned as time goes on. Chevy’s family is heartbroken over this decision, but are hopeful that his next family will be able to love him for the rest of his life!

Chevy is a big boy at around 80lbs. He has grown up around dogs, cats, and kids. He has started to develop issues with the other dogs in his home, but is happy to spend time with the cats and people! He is very lovable and would be a lap dog if he could. He walks well on a leash and has great household manners. He is an amazing dog that would make an excellent member of the family! He is currently available for adoption so please apply if you are interested!

Speckles is our longest resident of over two years and deserves some special love! She is a sassy, fun Cattle Dog mix. She is excitable and always up for adventure. This girl would be happy to play at home, go on a hike, or just run errands with her people. She loves her humans. She is intelligent and would love to continue training commands in her forever home! She loves to chew on her bones and play with her stuffy toys, but no promises that the stuffing guts will stay inside the toy!

Tripod? Yes. Powerhouse? Absolutely. Nemo is a fun-sized Pittie girl packed with spirit, sass, and sweetness. Don’t let the three legs fool you—this girl is an athlete through and through. She lives for fetch, tug, flirt pole, spring pole—you name it. If it involves play, movement, or showing off her skills, she’s in.

Our sweet girl has been available for adoption for almost two years and has been through so much in that time. Nemo has worked very hard with her foster mom, a professional behavioral trainer, over the last several months. We are SO incredibly proud of her. We are working to raise money for Nemo on North Texas Giving Day to help her ongoing training costs. We are hopeful that she can find her forever home soon, but will continue to fund her journey until that day comes.

Nemo took a trip to our friends at last week! She LOVED getting all of the attention, and we loved how they remembered her 20 months after her amputation!

Unfortunately Nemo needs dental surgery. She broke a tooth while playing and the remaining part needs to be extracted. We will have two canines evaluated for potential extraction as well (they’ve been broken since she came to us, but don’t bother her). As you can see, between her evaluation, surgery, and a post op appointment to come we are looking at about $600.

Pluto was born from a sweet pregnant mama dog that we saved from the shelter in 2023. She was the runt of the litter but her personality was anything but the smallest!

Pluto is incredibly intelligent and driven. She would thrive with someone who likes to exercise, play with, and train with a smart dog. She would be a great playmate from another dog or a great active pup for a human that wants to be out and about with their dog.

Pluto can be a little nervous at first, but trusts quickly and loves everyone she meets! She is very inquisitive and treat motivated. She puts a smile on everyone’s face and those eyebrows help her big personality come through! Pluto has lived with dogs, cats, and kids.

She is leash trained, kennel trained, and potty trained. Pluto can be a little nervous in public which sometimes leads to leash reactivity, but she is easily redirected with treats and a confident handler.

💠 ADOPT SPECKLES 💠

Speckles is a sassy, fun Cattle Dog mix! She is excitable and always up for adventure. This girl would be happy to play at home, go on a hike, or just run errands with her people. She loves meeting new people, snuggle time, and anything that involves her humans. She is intelligent and would love to continue training commands in her forever home! Speckles is low maintenance and though she is kennel trained, she is not destructive and has not been kenneled in her foster home. She loves to chew on her bones and play with her stuffy toys, but no promises that the stuffing guts will stay inside the toy haha! Speckles can sometimes resource guard bones that she sees as higher value so a home without children would be safest.

Speckles gets overexcited when around other dogs and though she plays well at first, she takes it too far and can cause tiffs with the other dogs in her home. For this reason, we think it is best if she not have other dogs in her home unless she had an owner committed to slow introductions and training to get the dogs integrated. Speckles does not do well with cats. We hope that her incompatibility with other animals does not overshadow how AMAZING this gorgeous girl is. We hope someone will give her a chance to show just how great of a companion she will be.

Speckles is potty trained and kennel trained. She is 50lbs and estimated to be 4 years old!

Speckles is located in Fort Worth, TX and can be transported out of state for the right adoptive family.
