Life has been hard lately; On Saturday I had to say goodbye to Jo (our rescue cat that was adopted by our director) , and I had closed our intakes because we are just dealing with a lot right now, but when one of your amazing former coworkers contacts you about a cat in need, you jump right in with hopes that our supporters can help. With that said, we’d like you to meet Buddy! You can help Buddy by donating through our website www.Pumpkinspatch.org, our PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/pumpkinspatchcat?locale.x=en_US or by our director’s Venmo or Cashapp $odangobunny . We thank you so much for your support! Happy 4th of July everyone!

Some of our followers have noticed that we haven’t had any intakes since Onyx and Slate got adopted. I just want to be transparent and share that a lot has been going on in my life and I feel that a step back from my rescue is needed. Our rescue is really just me who fosters cats through extra space in my home. Pumpkin’s Patch has 0 foster families, very little financial input into the rescue and we don’t have a permanent space for cats. We also spend a lot of funds getting our cats ready to be adopted but 99% of our cats come to us not spayed/neutered and while our vet gives us HIGH quality care and a 30% discount; they are still expensive to use. With our rescue not having these key supports, I can’t take in cats. Lately, I have had to focus on my own pets as well as other things that are happening in my life and I just need to step back and think about how to structure this rescue to be successful. We are NOT dissolving the rescue, but we do need some time for the foreseeable future to get my life together and then I can help other cats. You can’t pour from an empty cup and our cup and bank account is empty. Thank you to those that have supported us. You still can support us during this time if you choose by donating on our website www.pumpkinspatch.org . We also have a nonprofit PayPal account: https://www.paypal.me/pumpkinspatchcat?locale.x=en_US. Thank you for understanding. 🧡 -Team Orange-

SCAM ALERT: this account tried to SCAM a nonprofit. At first I almost believed it, but as soon as they said that I had to add someone on Discord in order to fix this, we knew it was a scam. Pumpkin’s Patch is a 501C3 nonprofit rescue who relies solely on donations to operate. It’s a shame that they would try and scam a cat rescue! They were telling us that we would have a federal investigation against us if we didn’t contact the person on Discord. Please know, Pumpkin’s Patch does ask for donations, but you can always donate on our website and via our rescue’s PayPal. If you see anything that you believe is not us! Please contact us!! Thank you! Please REPORT this account!!!!!!!

PLEASE be aware there is an account impersonating us and asking for money, we will never ask for money except for donations through our official website. Updating post to come later but please report strange activity and let us know.

DOUBLE ADOPTION: #13 and #14. Onyx and Slate were adopted back in January but we wanted to wait until they got comfortable with their new adopters before we posted about them. These bonded brothers have warmed up to their adopters and are still as playful and loving. Look at them holding each others paws. 🩶🖤

SAD NEWS: Today one of our FeLV+ cats passed. Not only was Gigi positive for Feline Leukemia she also developed lymphoma. This is not uncommon with cats who are FeLV+. First Gigi developed an infection in her eye and it was confirmed that the location site of the lymphoma was her liver. Her adopter reported that she stopped eating, drinking, using the litterbox and was in pain, so they had to humanely say goodbye to her. Gigi’s adopter was so wonderful in updating us about her and she is very saddened about losing her. Gigi originally spent most of her kitten years at a clinic (who was wonderful to her) and so we are just so thankful that Gigi got a chance to be a cat and had a friend who was also FeLV+. Rest in peace Gigi. Forever a Pumpkin’s Patch cat. 🧡

Onyx and Slate’s adoption has been postponed due to Slate having a (treatable) ulcer in his eye. We got our bill from these boys being fixed and other related visits for them and we knew the bill would be high. We have had to refer people to larger organizations with more resources as we are struggling to gain funds to pay off the bill. People are asking us to take in cats, and we want to help but this bill has to be paid off. You can help by donating to us via: PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/pumpkinspatchcat?locale.x=en_US Venmo: and Cashapp: $odangobunny . Stay tuned for these boys to get a final all clear on the 16th so that they can both go to their new wonderful home on the 18th. Thank you always for your support. 🧡

2024: 6 cats found their forever home. While this may not sound like a lot, we are a small rescue with 0 foster families . Out of these 6: 3 (50%) of the cats had an infectious disease. We are hoping to apply to more grants and hopefully win some in 2025. We are also hopeful to eventually get a space or more fosters for our cats. Thank you to all of our supporters. We could not do this without you! 🧡 #2025

Thanks to everyone who was able to donate! We paid off last month’s bill and were able to get them fixed. This will be Onyx and Slate’s first Christmas and they have been very good boys. Onyx and Slate have asked for a few things that you can help with: Donations are always needed: https://www.paypal.me/pumpkinspatchcat?locale.x=en_US Venmo: and Cashapp: $odangobunny . You can also help with items on our Wishlist. We just updated our Amazon list: We are always in need of kitten/cat food, litter, raised food bowls, beds and toys: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3JVRGOA8RBI6P?ref_=wl_share. The boys still have to be with us to heal from their procedure for two weeks, but they have also asked Santa Paws for a forever home. This bonded pair will need to find a forever home where they can still be together. These boys have never been separated from each other since they came into our care. We will be updating our website to include Onyx and Slate. We will announce once they are available for adoption applications. Thank you all for helping give these boys a great first Christmas. ❤️💚🎄🧡
