Fudo's first run for his VSWB title. This is a basic introduction to scentwork type sports and is a great way to get your pup to naturally start scenting in a specific area, as well as putting together the command with the action. My dogs have no issue using their noses out in the woods but indoors they expect all treats to come from me 😂 You can see him standing and waiting before he realizes he has to actually go and find it.

While my puppy owners were off doing awesome things this weekend, Koji and I had a little adventure of our own down south. It's been a while since he came out just the two of us and I wanted to get down before the air turned to soup for the next few months (seriously, no offense to my southern friends but I dunno how y'all handle the humidity all summer 💀). He had a blast being a dirty hog dog, and we even snuck in a pit stop to Natural Bridge. Love this boy ❤️

Nothing like a whole family getting sucked into the world of dog sports 🤣 I'm thankful to have such awesome puppy owners getting out and doing things with their dogs. Congrats to all the various McNamees for your achievements yesterday!

Sidney went in the Juniors ring not once but THREE times as each of the girls made their confo debuts - two in peewees and one in intermediate. He was such a gentleman being handled by the littles (peewees are so cute 😂😍) and Mikayla placed first in her age group 🥳 What an awesome way to end her first show weekend!

Also HUGE congrats to Kait for handling Sidney to his first Rally Q 🥳🥳🥳 Despite him being a gross boy puppy for his first run, you guys got it together for the second lol So proud of all of you (including Sidney 😂)

- AND in a crazy turn of events, they were approached by some shiba owners who as it turns out, got their pup from our good friend Audrey at Kensha in France who owns Keikan from our 2024 litter. Such a small world lol

Sweet Miss Rayu is maturing into such a lovely young dog. Like her brother, she's still looking for a family of her own....

Another NIPPO Classic in the books 🙌

2026 was the year of the puppies lol Fudo, Rei, AND Hoshi came along for Sweeps - and Ushi begrudgingly tolerated their presence 🤣 It was great getting to see everyone, including some of my co-owners and fellow breeders from the west coast! As always, a huge thank you to the Colonial Shiba Club for arranging the event, the Beikoku Nihon Ken Aigokai for sponsoring the medium nk awards, and Judge Toru Fujimura for flying all the way to the US for this show. It's a priviledge to be able to put our dogs in front of a truly educated judge 💙

Fuji and Kira both got to try FCAT the other week and we FINALLY got pics back lol I don't have two more different looking girls in my kennel and yet somehow people still couldn't tell them apart 🥴 Despite being at wildly opposite sides of the breed spectrum, both girls exhibit that classic nk prey drive and very much enjoyed chasing the bunny!

Sidenote - I love that this club uses a squawker 👀
