Jaydon Bowen began his journey with horses at the age of five, but his early passion took a backseat as he pursued competitive swimming through elementary and middle school. When COVID-19 shut down his school and swim team, Jaydon found consistency and purpose at his family’s horse facility—a place where life still moved forward and community thrived. Returning to horses, he discovered a love for English riding and jumping, developing a special bond with a young Appaloosa named Roxy. Together, they competed successfully in local shows. Most days now Jaydon mentors younger riders, tuning up horses, and stepping in when a horse needs a confident hand. Jaydon was hesitant to join the rest of the family in competing participate in the Bluebonnet Expo, but something about the ability to help an underdog find the right home some to him. Jaydon is proud now to continue the family tradition and help his project horse, Empire, find a promising future.
