Did you know that dogs can't sweat?

That's why they pant, and keeping them cool in hot weather is important. If your dog is panting excessively (more than twice per minute), get them some help. If you see your dog panting excessively, you should see a vet immediately. It could be minor (like an ear infection), but it could also be major (like heat stroke).

Heat stroke is a severe condition that can kill your dog. It occurs when the body temperature rises dramatically, usually caused by exposure to scorching temperatures or strenuous exercise in hot weather. The symptoms of heat stroke are very similar to dehydration, but they can develop much more quickly. If your dog has any of these signs, get them some help right away:

-Panting excessively (more than twice per minute)

-Elevated body temperature (above 104°F)

-Redness or swelling around the ears and eye

-Excessive drooling

-Confusion, lack of coordination

-Vomiting or diarrhea

-Collapse

-Unconsciousness

If your dog has any of these symptoms, get them some help immediately.

Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency; you should call your vet immediately. Take your dog to an emergency clinic if it's after hours or the office is closed.

Always bring water with you if you need to cool your dog down.

🐾How To Unlove, Your Dog🦮

Every dog owner knows that loving and caring for their canine is well worth the effort. Sadly, there comes a day in every dog lover's life when they wish their pet could take a hint and disappear. When your pet becomes more of a problem than an asset, you must know how to unlove your dog.

When you first brought your puppy home, it probably filled you with an intense love that made you want to eat nothing but ice cream and watch rom-coms all day. But sometimes, for whatever reason, that love can fade. Maybe your dog was too much for you to handle when it was first born, and now he's a full-grown adult who still acts like a toddler. Or maybe you've had your dog for years, but lately, he's been getting on your nerves more than ever before—constantly barking at the mail carrier or chewing up your favourite shoes. Whatever the case, unloving him is something we all have to do at some point in our lives (hopefully not too often!).

Here are some tips on how to unlove your dog:

1) Unlove him by making him sleep outside every night until he learns his lesson. If he wants back inside, he has to go through the house training process again.

2) Unlove him by putting him on a diet so he can lose weight and hopefully learn some self-control over his food.

3) Unlove him by yelling at him when he does something wrong (but follow up with a firm pat on the head).

4) Unlove him by ignoring his attempts at affection until he learns to respect you as an alpha dog.

5) Unlove him by letting other people pet and love him while you watch from afar, feeling jealous that they get more attention than you do.
