We have a new handsome fella crashing with us for about a week.
Meet Gallagher!
Gallagher is the sweetest guy with a laundry list of ailments, but thankfully Cheatham Co Animal Control is going to get him all fixed up! He needs a dental badly! He’s got some ear issues we are trying to clear up with drops twice a day. But he’s appreciating the cool tile floor with an occasional visit to the cat tree ground floor.
Cats like Gallagher are our favorite to foster. They are so grateful just for a little attention, some food and a quiet place.
If you are wanting to foster kittens or adults, please reach out to your local shelter because they need you!

Meet Jamaica!
She’s our newest foster cat. We just picked her up from the shelter yesterday so she could be in a home setting until she gets fixed. During kitten season, space is tight at shelters and often times adults awaiting surgery are placed in cages by themselves. Adult cats are just a little bit easier for us to foster right now, and there is still a need for adult cat fosters. has one more adult cat that is looking for a foster home.

Anyways, back to Jamaica!
She’s about 2 years old. She’s a lap sitter, but hasn’t necessarily wanted to snuggle too much. She is a purr machine and a solid biscuit maker. In her 24 hours here, she’s found her spot to be one of the bath mats. Hopefully over the next couple of days she will explore a bit more. This seems like it’s the first time she’s been in a house. She’s using the litter box and eating… easy peasy!
She’s getting spayed at the end of the month and then will return back to the shelter and be ready for adoption.

And our new foster dog, Canyon!
We’ve teased him a lot in stories, but it’s time for a proper introduction. He is now 10 days post neuter surgery, so we celebrated removing the cone with a night hike and a pup cup.
Canyon spent about 5 months at the Huntingdon pound and after several fosters pleas his time was up. As if it were meant to be, our medical foster dog at the time was able to move to a new foster, and that gave us space to say yes to Canyon 🙌
He is about 3 years old, 65 # and so far his favorite activities are finding a blanket to curl up in and snooze 😴
He may look sophisticated and hard working, but napping is his number one hobby.
Once we get some pictures of him and get more dog testing completed, he will be up for adoption. Until then, we are just learning more about him and what his perfect home will look like. 💙💙💙

We have exciting news!!! After a month with us, Aspen received the all clear and is now adoption ready!
Aspen’s story is a bizarre one, but she developed some eye issues while under the care of a local rescue. The rescue was not able to provide the medical support Aspen needed, so she returned back to the shelter. After seeing some specialists, she was provided a series of eye drops and pain meds. Due to the complexities of her medication, the shelter wasn’t an ideal environment, so we agreed to foster her to ensure she received consistent medical attention. And that consistency paid off! All the damage done to her cornea was reversed and we were able to save her vision and eye. 🥳🥳
Now she’s ready to be adopted!!!! Her requirements is a cat condo. This girl is a lounger! She also was obsessed with swatting at Ricky’s tail… so a curly tailed dog would be a bonus! She is FIV+ but she’s spayed and super sweet and friendly so she would be low risk for joining a household with another cat. She has buddied up at the shelter with another FIV+ cat. She’s just an overall wonderful cat!

Meet our new foster, NooNoo!
This boy is alllllll love. He’s had some rough days, but that is all behind him now. He recently had a dental to get his grill all cleaned up and now he’s ready to show it off in his forever home.
He’s just staying with us until Sunday so we can provide consistent meds, since foster homes are open 24/7 and shelters have closing hours.
If you’re interested in a sweet snuggle bug, please reach out! NooNoo deserves a home of his own 🤍

Meet Siam!
We started fostering Siam a few days ago, as a medical foster. He needs insulin every 12 hours and with the shelter hours not aligning to his medical needs, a foster was needed ASAP. He’s very chill about receiving his insulin, but in the process of administering his insulin we uncovered a large sore on the back of his neck. So antibiotics were added to his medical needs. Overall he’s a really sweet boy, not the smartest cat we’ve fostered, but we enjoy the silly ones too.
Uncle Ricky is obsessed with him, and rarely leaves his position of Siam guard duties.

We are hopeful to get his insulin stabilized so we can head off to a rescue or adopter.

These dogs deserve more!

While we provide support in posting about them, giving monthly preventatives, driving to pick up pups going to rescue, fostering, CASA and RARE are providing medical testing, rescue & home placement and so so much more.

We are so proud to be a part of this small but MIGHTY crew that is saving lives out in the Huntingdon Pound.

We headed out to Huntingdon with the gals of Who Will Let the Dogs Out? last week to show them around a pick their brains on how we can better serve these dogs and this pound. They provided us with some great insight and ideas and lit a fire back in us. Alongside the ladies from CASA and RARE we are providing support and helping these amazing dogs find their forever homes.

Here’s some details on each of our houseguest!
1) Petting Zoo - he was found underneath a car scared and only a 1 # little dude. He’s grown up in foster and is 3.5 # now. He’s getting fixed on Monday and then will be available for adoption mid-week. His adoption fee is $10.
2) Karate Kitten (aka Tiny Hector) he is a mischievous goofball that keeps us laughing. He is also getting fixed on Monday and will be available for $10 midweek. You’re definitely going to want to adopt a buddy with him because he needs an outlet to get his playing out.
3) Sweet, sweet Milo! Some adult cats really struggle with a shelter setting, and Milo is one of those. While at the shelter he decided to stop eating. He is the sweetest boy and just wants to snuggle, but the shelter setting isn’t working for him. So ideally he would be adopted right from a foster home and go straight to his forever home, leap frogging the shelter. His adoption fee is also $10. He’s perfect with using the litter box. Dog friendly. Just wants to be a lap cat. If you’re looking for a laidback adult, he’s the one!

Virtual Angel Tree for the Huntingdon dogs!

The Rescue Sisters and Huntingdon shelter are partnering to remind others to share their love of Christmas through the Virtual Angel Tree for the dogs at Huntingdon dogs. Want to be a Christmas Pawgel? (An Angel for the friends with Paws) The Virtual Angel Tree will provide much needed things to assist with the dog’s time while at Huntingdon - basic needs like dewormer, water buckets, flea and tick, and treats.

Simply pick a dog off the Virtual Angel Tree and shop the Amazon Wishlist (the link in our bio). The wishlist items will be delivered directly to Tiff’s house for use when we visit the Huntingdon shelter. The dogs are due for preventatives on 12/8, so items will be delivered approximately on that date.
All three dogs at the shelter are available for adoption. (Rocky needs to complete heartworm treatment but that can be done with an adoption) Help us bring a Merry Christmas to the dogs of the Huntingdon shelter.

We have a weekend guest 🐈‍⬛
Meet True Crime!
True Crime is just waiting for her spay appt on Monday, so we thought instead of utilizing a much needed cat cage at we would let her sleep in Brit’s room for the weekend!
She is the sweetest girl 🧡🧡🧡
Her favorite spot is sitting in the window sill watching the leaves fall. 🍂🍂🍂
If you’re looking for a semi-floofy black cat then she’s perfect for you and will be ready for adoption mid next week. Shes estimated to be 6 months old, so she may stay on the smaller side.

Cheatham Co Animal Control is always looking for fosters… sometimes it’s 3 days, sometimes it’s a few weeks, sometimes it’s a couple months. Fostering can be a choose your own adventure! But definitely consider it!
