Animal Rescue of the Rockies ARR places at-risk pets from overcrowded shelters in loving foster homes until they're adopted. A.R.R. also works closely with other rescue groups in Colorado.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies is a 501(c)3 non profit Colorado corporation. Organized in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to provide an alternative to the county shelter, A.R.R. has successfully provided foster homes and subsequent permanent homes to hundreds of dogs and cats to date. Because we don't have a shelter facility, we work exclusively with foster homes to give homeless pets the chan

ce to socialize in a home environment. This gives them the advantage of transitioning to their new forever homes much more easily and quickly. We help with transport, fostering, and adoptions whenever we can. Foster homes are always needed, and there never seem to be enough! Three years ago, I wasn’t planning to adopt. I had just said goodbye to one of my beloved dogs and my heart was still hurting. But then came Jerry — a sassy little dachshund-chihuahua mix with a whole lot of attitude and just the right amount of charm. 🐶💥

He was supposed to be a foster… but let’s be real, Jerry had other plans. From the moment he stepped into my home, he fit right in with my crew like he’d always been there. Sure, he’s a bit of a pill (aren’t the best ones always?), but he’s brought more joy, laughs, and unconditional love than I could’ve imagined. 💛

Chicks has found her forever home!

This stunning girl is officially off the market and on to the next chapter of her life—one filled with adventure, love, and non-stop tail wags! Her new life will include daily strolls, kayaking and swimming at Cherry Creek Reservoir, and even the occasional hiking trip to take in those Colorado views!

The best part? Her adopters live right next to Cheesman Park, so she’ll have daily opportunities to socialize with other pups and people—perfect for this sweet social butterfly.

We couldn’t be happier for her.

Meet Sierra, a sweet 1-year-old spayed Hound mix in desperate need of two FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgeries to help her live a pain-free and happy life. Sierra is suffering from hip dysplasia, which has been causing her significant pain and limiting her ability to move around comfortably. These surgeries are her chance for a better quality of life, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

The total cost for both surgeries is $5,000, and we are asking for donations to cover these expenses. Every little bit helps and will go directly toward Sierra’s medical care.

💚 Foster Needed for Sweet Snoopy! 💚

We’re looking for a new foster for Snoopy, a precious 8-year-old Beagle mix! Snoopy just moved into a foster home, but sadly, due to allergies in the household, she needs a new place to land—through no fault of her own.

Snoopy is incredibly people-loving and friendly. She has lived with other dogs before, but due to her high prey drive and excitement around other pups, she’s currently working with our trainer to learn calm greetings and improve her leash manners. Here's what our trainer has to say:

“Snoopy can absolutely live with other dogs but will need very slow introductions so the other dog isn't intimidated by her enthusiasm. We’ll be focusing on desensitizing her to other dogs on walks and practicing commands like ‘heel’ to help her stay calm.”

Snoopy has already made amazing progress—she no longer barks at dogs while on leash and is showing signs of being a quick learner!
