Our Etsy shop only has snuggle sacks/bonding bags right now, but if you message us, we'd love to make you cubes/tubes/liners and custom orders! We rescued Super Hedge (Marceline - also known as Marcy) in 2015, from a family who started travelling and couldn't spend enough time with her anymore. I'd been going through a rough time as a Student, and I had a few weeks off, so I spent roughly 6 hours

a day bonding with her during that time. She really keeps me calm during my struggles with mental illness; we nap, watch movies, play video games, and go to the park, amongst other things. We built her cage by ourselves, and that's when I realized that there weren't many options for nerd/geek themed accessories. It was also cheaper for me to make my own accessories rather than pay some outrageous shipping fee from the US. Thus, a year later, the Canadian Quill Zone (a play on Sonic's "Green Hill Zone") was born! I decided that I wanted to keep prices low, despite licensed fabrics being more expensive, in order to let others have a chance to have more geek and nerd in their pets' life. Mostly, I just enjoy seeing other pets having a blast with their new item. Whatever profit I do make goes towards saving for Marcy's vet bills (she's had one oral surgery so far), and we appreciate any help we can get! Our Etsy shop doesn't list cubes, tubes, hammocks, pyramids, etc, but we do make them, and often sell or trade them locally. Unfortunately shipping would be expensive on those items, but if you're really interested, we'd love to get a shipping quote for you. It's been a long time since the vet appointment; long story short, she seems like she's going to be okay and she isn't going in for surgery at this point.

Longer story:
To the amazement of the veterinarians, Marceline's infection went down on its own. Her swelling reduced until it was nonexistent, but we got x-rays done and put her under anyways so the vet could physically touch her teeth.

She was a good girl, the vet was very amused by her s***k and friendliness. After all the tests, they concluded that her infection had reduced and she didn't need immediate surgery. There was a hole where her infection had been, but it had apparently drained and cleaned itself out.

We were told to watch her and make sure her infection doesn't come back. She got some clavamox (antibiotics) for a while, and if the infection exploded again we'd have to schedule an emergency surgery.

Luckily, she's seemed okay for the last couple weeks!

We're still using all funds from the store to pay for her vet bills, and we're very grateful for your help!

our Super Hedge (Marcy) has a swollen jaw. We noticed last night while we were giving her a bath. Her left lower jaw is swollen/bumpy and we'll be calling the vet today or tomorrow to schedule an appointment.

I'm worried that it might be an oral tumour, which is pretty much a hedgehog death sentence. If it's her teeth again (she had a tooth abscess with many loose teeth last year) then we'll have to look into another oral surgery and hopefully she's strong enough to wake up from the anesthesia again.

Unfortunately I might lose my job next month, because I've been missing work due to school and one of my family members is ill. Marcy's oral surgery last year was around $1000, so if she needs that again, that's definitely going to be a hurdle I'll need to deal with...

Clearance sale! Only one Fleece tunnel available at the low price of $14 (regularly $18+shipping).

Made from two layers of fleece (the interior is navy blue) with batting in between, this tunnel is about 15.5" long and 4" in diameter.

Unfortunately that makes it too big for me to ship, so this item is PICK UP ONLY (in Toronto or Square One in Mississauga). Please message me if you're interested 🙂
