Introducing The Legacy Litter!
Our theme for this litter took some time. After we lost our sweet puppy, Luna, last year we had decided to do a litter theme in her honor. It was going to be Night Sky themed because Luna got her name from the color of her fur which looked kind of like a Milky Way bar. Then when we got the due date of August 10th, everything changed. August 10th was my dad's birthday. This was his first heavenly birthday since he passed away last December. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to honor his memory too. He loved our pups and even had one himself from our Christmas Cookie litter. Having been born in Peru, my dad loved sharing his culture with us and especially with his grandkids. We had a hard time narrowing down some of our favorite Peruvian things that reminded us of him. A few names that didn't make the final cut included Empanada, Lucuma, Dulce, Nazca, Lima, Guanabana, and Limon. We wanted more puppies to include all the names that brought sweet memories to mind. I couldn't decide which litter theme to go with, so we had Luna and my dad share the theme. The Legacy Litter stuck out to me. Not just because I'm a fan of alliteration, but also because both Luna and my dad (also known as Papito to his grandkids) have made an impact on our lives and their legacy lives on in how they have become part of us, of our story. Our litter themes are not usually so meaningful to us, but losing life is made a little less bitter by the sweetness of being blessed with new life. These precious babes remind me of how beautiful life is when it's spent with humans and furry friends we love and who love us. Thank you for coming with us on our beautiful journey of raising these puppies! Here they are in the order of their birth.
