About 5:30am this morning, Garda Ruairc Courtney responded to a call made to Carrigaline Garda Station by a member of the public about a dog stranded at Monkstown Pier.
The dog was quite soaked, stuck in seaweed and in distress.
When he arrived, Garda Courtney hopped into the water to get to the dog and bring him to safety before the tide came back in.
This fine Border Collie is with us at Togher Garda Station where he’s happy out but we’d like to get him back home to his owners.
