🐾🐾 WELCOME TO LCAR 🐾🐾

Elliot is a lynx point Siamese who was part of a hoarding situation. When the house was vacated, he was part of 10 indoor cats who suddenly found themselves outside with no one to care for them. The neighborhood came together in effort to find homes for them, and Elliot was pulled into rescue, along with his former roomie, Charles.

Elliot is friendly and wants to be loved. It's often harder for animals from hoarding situations to adjust, so he will need a quiet, patient and understanding forever family.

🐾🐾 WELCOME TO LCAR 🐾🐾

Welcome Fidget! This handsome fella is about four years old, found as a stray. Because of his leg injury, he was put on the shelter's euthanasia list. We do not know what the injury is but it is old. He may need an amputation. Will know a bit more after he sees a vet and has xrays.

Fidget did well at his first adoption event and handled dogs, cats and lots of noise and people well. He seems well on his way to become a confident, well-socialized dog. He'd only been with foster mom a day, and he had bonded strongly with her. We are sure he will quickly adjust to any loving family.

🐾🐾 WELCOME TO LCAR 🐾🐾

Charles is looking to start a new life after living in a mild hoarding situation, then being turned out with 9 of his roomies when the owners had to vacate the home. Thankfully, the neighborhood came together and is trying to care for the cats, many who look thin.

Charles seems to be a bit more food-motivated and is in good shape. We are guessing he is 2-3 years old. He is friendly, but shy and a little freaked, and will need a patient adopter willing to keep working to socialize him.

Stay tuned as his foster mom learns more about him and strives to get more photos without Charles's "RSbF" (Resting Siamese b* Face).

🐾🐾 FREEDOM RIDE 🐾🐾

Welcome Miss Frizzle! We got a call from a shelter asking if we take her into rescue as she was not doing well in the shelter envirnonment. Someone turned her in as a stray. So far she seems to love people, kids included (toddlers not tested), wishes to snuggle her human all day, and takes treats like a little lady. Miss Frizzle would like a family who is home a lot. Seems to have some seperation anxiety. Last two pics are after a bath, which went well. Will update her profile as we learn more about her.

Scamp is a bundle of energy. Fun to watch and he will wrestle with other cats and dogs. He loves the interaction and antics. Very affectionate and will curl up in a human's lap or his favorite napping spot. No need for expensive cat toys. Crumple up a piece of paper into a ball and toss it. That will entertain him for hours. He is one year old. Good with children, dogs, and other cats.

💗 Marnie is the ultimate best friend. She is always excited to be with people and will jump in the car so you don't leave without her. Rolls on her back for belly rubs from everyone, young and old. Chip is the sweetest dog ever!!! He loves snuggling and belly rubs. He loves to be by your side while you work or chill. He gets along with my cat because he leaves her alone and she leaves him alone. He doesn’t chew on anything and has never had an accident while in my home. He’s quiet and not yappy. He rides well in the car. He is great on the leash while walking. Not a huge stop and sniff every 6 inches which makes walking enjoyable. He doesn’t seem to shed compared to my constant cleaning of cat hair from my indoor cat. If he was a man, I would marry him. 😊

Amy is safe!!!

After feeling like always being in the wrong place at the wrong time today we were finally in the right place at the right time with the right equipment in place!

Thank you to Jackie for manning the phone and making the posters and putting them up. Thank you to everyone in Highwood Plantation for letting us know anytime you saw Amy. And lastly, thank you to the caring and amazing Kerri Lyons! Without Kerri's help we never would have caught Amy.

I'll say it again, things like this truly take a village!
