Here is an update on tag #1013. “O”, as we call him right now, still doesn’t have a name. I am between Oz or Opie.
We have been working on a lot of ground work, and getting him exposed to different things. Other than the basics in hand, I have put a few rides on him. We have had a few rides in the round pen, and a few rides in the arena. He also rode through the pasture with all the obstacles, and did all of them with confidence.

Tag #6701, is now called Paddington. He is turned out with O and a few others. He loves to come up and get scratches. Soon, I will start working with him more, and get him started undersaddle.

It’s been a while since I have made a post on here, but a lot has happened this past year. It’s probably too much to go over, but as far as mustangs, I only bought two last year. One wild yearling and one gentled yearling. The wild one was tag #8061 , now called Nemo. He is a grey gelding from Twin Peaks, California. He knows all the basics and is now just growing up until I start him later this year. The gentled gelding was purchased from the Wild Horse Youth Challenge auction. I had no intention of buying anything, I was just there to watch. Thanks to some bad influences, I last minute got a bidders number and won a cute little red roan. He is named Mater, and he is also from Twin Peaks, California. He is mainly going to be my brothers project for this upcoming year.

With the news of the Hutchinson Mustang Facility closing soon, I wanted to get out there and pick up a few for the new Mustang shows that are coming about. So meet tag #1013 and tag #6701!
Tag #1013 is a 4 year old grey gelding that stands about 13.2h and is from Piceance East Douglas Creek, Colorado. I have never had a horse from CO, but so far he has been really cool and has a very bubbly personality. I plan on competing in the Branded Bonanza Missouri that happens in October. He will be competing undersaddle. He may also compete in the EXCA New Mustang Division that is also in October. He will need a name that starts with O!
Tag #6701 is a coming 4 year old chestnut gelding that stands about 13.1h and is from Pancake, Nevada. He was super friendly in the pens and has been super friendly since getting home. He will be a personal project in hopes to become a pretty cool kids pony in the future. He will need a name that starts with P!
Open to name suggestions for both new boys!

Kerchak is settled in at Equifest of Kansas!
He was selected to participate in the c**t starting clinic by Tik Maynard!
While we were joking about entering him, it really got me determined to get him gentled. With only two weeks of true gentling, he handled the busy environment pretty well. He is still nervous about new people, and wasnt understanding why we were asking him to go into a square prison, he still kept his head on his shoulders.

Another year of the Retired Racehorse Project is in the books!
Harry tried his best and was very well behaved for having a significantly less amount of training than most horses there. With only 45 ish post track rides, we got 22nd overall and 4th junior in trail. In freestyle, we got 9th overall and 2nd place junior. I should also mention that we had never practiced our freestyle prior to our schooling practice the night before.
Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way.
Harry is looking for a new home. 4 year old gelding, 16h.

Light Horse Harry and I are off to Kentucky for the Retired Racehorse Project!
We have had a busy past few weeks trying to get as much experience under our belt before the show. Two weeks ago, we traveled up the Northern Kansas to stay with the Saliceti’s. They were gracious enough to let me keep Harry there and let me stay in their home. I went up there to participate in a three day clinic put on by Lee Hart. We both learned a lot and I will be able to use that knowledge for other horses as well. At the end of that week, I was able to do my first EXCA race. While it wasn’t anywhere near perfect or very fast, Harry exceeded my expectations and we got third. We left the next day and headed towards home to another obstacle event at a local arena. He had never seen anything like the obstacles they had but crushed it. Even with a few bobble, he won his class and also had the third best score of the whole show.
Last week, Harry and I went to an open obstacle course. There were several acres of very different obstacles. He was super brave about all of them. Right after that, we ran over to a neighboring town to get shoes on Harry. He was super patient for the whole process. Thank you Analise for squeezing us in.
I am excited to see how Harry does this week. He has been a cool one to restart.
Harry will be available following the show!

I was asked to carry a flag at the Wild Horse Youth Challenge at the Kansas State Fair again this year. And not only any flag, the American flag. This was quite nerve wracking but Sargent really pulled through for me a few weeks ago. Not only had he been out the pasture since last year but he also only had two weeks prep. I was super close to asking to borrow another horse to carry the flag in the ceremony. He handled being back in the show environment very well and really didn’t skip a beat considering how terribly I prepared him. Even country music singer, Ella Langley rode him around the fair. While I didn’t get to watch the whole thing, I was told that they got along pretty well. Only one other person has ridden him beside me so I was hesitant but it worked out great.

Huge thank you Jason Holder for sealing our trailer and helping continue to go to shows!

We scheduled with Jason (The Trailer Coating Co) to meet us at Will Rogers while I was down at the Fort Worth Mustang Show to seal the roof of our horse trailer. He provided excellent customer service and a great product. After returning from Fort Worth we got a letter and sponsorship from him in the mail. That sponsorship helped with the Wild Horse Youth Challenge that following week. We can definitely tell a huge difference in the dressing room where we sleep. If anyone needs the roof of your horse trailer sealed don’t hesitate to reach out to him! His set up is mobile and he travels all over the US.
