Those evening walks and adventures in the park are even more enjoyable when you know your furry friend is safe. But with tick season upon us, it’s important to be extra vigilant. Ticks can transmit diseases that can be serious for both pets and humans, so checking your pet regularly is crucial.

⁣ Did you know that ticks go through several stages in their life cycle and can put your pet’s health at risk at each stage? 🤔 It’s crucial to understand these stages to properly protect our furry friends.

Here’s how to make sure your pet stays tick-free:
• Inspect your pet thoroughly after every outdoor adventure, especially after walks in wooded areas or tall grass.Pay close attention to areas like the ears, paws, between the toes, around the tail, and under the collar.
• Early detection is key! Ticks are often easier to remove when they’re small. If you find a tick, remove it carefully with a tick removal tool and dispose of it properly.
• Talk to your vet about tick prevention medication. There are a variety of options available, and your vet can recommend the best one for your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors.

Often times I feel like we tend to seek external validation and advice when we have business challenges or plans. But over the years I have come to realize, the best insights come from within ourselves.

The Story Behind Helpen Pets

Our story begins with Miss B. Life wasn’t always easy for her. A few years back, she was snuck out of a puppy mill cage in Thailand by a local rescue group. She was one sick puppy. Her body was fighting a bacterial infection, severe skin fungus which caused incessant itching, and ear mites.

While being nursed back to health, her immune system was so low she caught pneumonia and had to go back for another short stay at the hospital. Without all the volunteers and donations for vaccines, medical treatments, teeth cleaning, my microchip, neutering, crate food, plane ticket and a flight volunteer to take care of her on the plane...Miss B. would have never made it safely to America. Everything turned around for her thanks to all the loving care she received.

Then something magical happened. When Miss B. arrived in the states, I was able to adopt her. My name is Michelle and I’m the owner of Helpen Pets and mom to Miss B. I am so happy to be able to give Miss B. her forever home.

Not only am I an avid animal lover, but I have 15 years of experience with interior design. I wanted to design something custom just for Miss B., so I made her an elevated custom designed pet bowl. So now, just like my kitchen cabinets are custom built to match the style of my home decor, so is her elevated pet bowl!
