I know it’s been a long time since I posted but I’m happy to see many of you still are following the page.

I am in imminent danger of losing my job as a result of federal cuts to education and research. There are 8 remaining herd horses. 4 are two year olds that will start training this summer. These can be homed and have wonderful futures. The other four are adult mares that can’t be homed for a variety of reasons.

I am going to form a 5013c to help me support the remaining 8 horses (there were 23!) this will allow me to take in donations to feed and vet them. To provide grain, hay and vet card for one horse per year it is approximately 3500. This cost will be beyond me with a job loss.

So please spread the word. If someone is looking for a young horse to start the young ones here are phenomenal. If anyone can sponsor an older mare let me know! If you have fundraising ideas let me know! I have to keep these last herd members safe ❤️

Info to come soon on 5013c formation

Prancer is SO fancy.

Saddlebred x Quarter Pony

She is gaited and gorgeous. The most delicate features. If anyone is interested in homing her reach out. Otherwise we will wait another year to start her under saddle.

These guys are all ready for this arctic blast! Woooly and fluffy with shelter in case it snows. I broke down and got Sugar Cone a blanket since she decided to use her fat reserves to shoot straight up. Not even two and taller than mom!

I got this great Moon Dancer update photo today! Why is it so great you wonder?

As Moon Dancer neared foaling she developed incredible amounts of edema I called my vet out who listened to her heart and took all her vital signs. He didn’t say much except that she likely had placentis and prescribed an antibiotic. She was the first of two mares in the herd to become extremely ill prior to foaling.

Moondancer foaled Jupiter five days later. At the foal check Dr. Robertson told me that when he examined her the week before her pulse was 64 and he had serious doubts she would live long enough to deliver. He didn’t want to tell me at the time.

But she got through it. We got through it. And this mare who is so gentle but so distrustful of humans, is learning to trust again.

Who doesn’t love a red head???

Maple is one of the last foals born in the herd that is looking for a new home. She is a yearling and likely to max out at 14.2 or so. She is calm and sweet. Her dam was Rosie and her sister Rose Star who is getting started under saddle with her special person. Reach out if Maple sounds like a good fit for you!

Training and board can be arrange at Horse Dreams Farm

I haven’t had any updates to give in a while. But today was BIG!

Moon Dancer and her c**t left for their forever home today! And they went to the home that was meant to be from day 1. It just took nearly two years to make it happen❤️.

They will be loved in Crozet, Va.

Sugar Cone is now more than a year old. She is so beautiful and loving. She is now part of Horse Dreams Farm but did you know there are four other yearlings available to go to their forever homes?

Reach out if you have room in your heart or farm for a member of the herd.

Happy Cora Update!

She is now at her forever home in New Jersey! She has filled out and is thriving now that she is getting constant love and has new equine friends.

Now I just need to find the perfect home for her brother Jupiter!
