Many Tears Rescue - 57 Labradors picked up in Ireland

AND here is our first Topic as its "HOT" at the moment with all news outlets reporting on it and lots of mixed comments ....
So here is what we know from the various information available.

Many Tears Rescue – Stated on their own pages and website that they often travel to Ireland to pick up a van load of dogs from Breeders. Yes, I know not all the dogs are said to be from Ireland but they themselves talk about travelling to Ireland in their videos when they are sitting at the port trying to create all the paperwork in the dark just before they load onto the ferry. They have also stated “We are a unique rescue in that the majority of our dogs are ex-breeders and many have never seen the outside world before.”
Reading the words “majority of our dogs are ex-breeders and many have never seen the outside world before” does pose so many questions for me.
1. Most registered reputable breeders do not lock their dogs away never to see the outside world. This then makes me wonder if they are referring to back street breeders and unlicenced / unregulated Puppy Farms. Are they??
2. If yes, then a huge THANK YOU for saving these dogs and finding them a loving forever home but this then becomes another question. If they are removing “exbreeding dogs” then does that mean they are paving the way for more dogs to be shut away from the world and used / abused to make these greedy breeders more money only for Many tears to be back for the next batch after they have drained the life out of these poor souls.
3. Or….. Is Many Tears actually doing something to get these places shut down once and for all?

Lets look at what we know about the 57 Labradors picked up in Ireland “bred as service dogs but the contract changed” the news articles doing their rounds are stating that “all set to be trained as sniffer dogs”
The company which supplies them has decided that it no longer wants them” “The dogs, which are aged from 13 weeks to ten months, were due to be specially trained for tough jobs such as sniffing out drugs and explosives.” “But a company that supplies them to security firms is said to have decided, for reasons unknown, that they no longer wanted them.” “The kennel that was caring for the dogs prior to them starting full training was suddenly told they were no longer wanted by the supplier to the security companies – there was no proper explanation.” Security companies pay more than £15,000 for a fully-trained sniffer dog. It can be a lucrative business for suppliers. The vet has checked them over and they're all super fit, very smart and well-put together dogs from working lines. 'They're all in very good condition and had obviously been looked after very well before all this happened.
1. Would a breeder of such high calibre bloodlines just give up on 57 very super fit, very smart and well-put together dogs from working lines. Surely they would be able to sell these pups on to other organisations for working dogs such as Assistance dogs for the disabled or any other Charity alike. If they are giving away these dogs to Many Tears Charity, why not others that actual would train them to support human life?
2. They're all in very good condition and had obviously been looked after very well. This then says they were “a good breeder” that means they would have carried out all the vaccinations and treatments required and Many tears only needed to cover transport costs at a minimum and those of the correct age would need to be spayed or neutered, which you can get for free or massively reduced costs for Charities. Then I guess there is the food and space they take up but with such super fit healthy pups and adoption applications reaching 800 plus according to their page, these pups will be gone very quickly. They are asking for £250 adoption fee plus £20 for the passport which we know these have as they were transported from Ireland x 57 Labradors that is £15390 not to forget the gofund me page for these lab is already on £10k in such a short time. Is it right to ask for funds when you do the maths?
Yes of course fundraising is how all these charities survive, I am not criticizing that at all but maybe not needed for these particular pups and maybe for the others that they collect from Ireland that are in such poor conditions and not knowing the outside world.

I am not judge or jury….. I only ask the questions for you all to discuss and decide do we think… GOOD BAD or UGLY? Me I have both a devil and angel on this subject and cant call it yet!!

Many Tears Animal Rescue charity, based near Llanelli, Carmarthenshire found itself with an influx of 57 of labrador pups, set to be trained as sniffer dogs, all at once.
