Not too shabby! Only his second time away from the barn and first in these arenas.

Most importantly, he stayed clean.

We will get an updated ad together soon, but Magnus is available still. We ultimately decided the potential home was not a good fit for him, which is the most important thing to us. In the meantime, we will continue developing him for his next partnership.

End of Summer fun.

End of Summer fun.

It’s a testament to the horse that I, an advanced beginner rider at best, who learned how to do a flying lead change a few weeks ago, can help Magnus learn to do a flying lead change. I just try once or twice a day over the past couple days with no pressure, and he improves everyday. He didn’t quite get his hind end in these, but the horse learns fast and easy… not too mention he can counter canter with the best of them.

I didn’t ever think I would consider Magnus not being in my pasture. He is everything I ever dreamt of having in a horse. But, as our equine aspirations began to change for the family and I, thoughts of what was best for him did start creeping in. At the same time, interest came for him kind of out of nowhere for him to join a dressage program. It’s hard to not consider this as it is what he is extremely capable of and what I bought him for. His movement is fancy and always has been since birth.

If you have been watching his journey with us and can see him having a perfect home with you, feel free to reach out. If this initial interest does not pan out, we will consider the options.

**Training Update – Magnus, 5-Year-Old, 16.2HH, Registered American Cream Draft**

**Foundation & Ability**

* Athletic, light-footed, and naturally balanced
* 6 months of professional training, where he excelled (Walton’s Performance Horses, Jarid Walton)
* Shows strong potential for dressage work
* Responsive to leg aids; established direct & indirect rein
* Soft in the bridle; works well in snaffle or training curb
* Solid lateral work started; smooth transitions
* Beginning flying lead changes
* Focus and willingness improving steadily with maturity
* Thrives with clear, consistent communication and patient guidance

**Exposure & Versatility**

* Has worked cattle and enjoys it
* Ridden through towns, woods, streams, steep hills, and traffic (including semis with cattle trailers)
* Rides alone or in a group
* Ridden in indoor and outdoor arenas, trails, pastures

**Mind & Manners**

* Kind disposition; enjoys kids
* Recently gelded; minimal stud behavior
* Stands quietly for mounting, farrier, and vet
* Loads, grooms, and bathes easy
* Adjusts easily to stall or pasture living
* Cross-Ties
* Fits most FQH and warmblood tack

Magnus continues to develop into a steady, capable, and versatile partner—with the talent and temperament to shine in dressage, but really could be great in just about anything. He loves the trails.
