Meet Millia! I had a wonderful time walking her this weekend. She was such a happy girl, full of curiosity, more interested in exploring all the amazing smells than in keeping up with our walk.
Millia absolutely loves her snuggles and asked for lots of belly rubs along our route. Her unique markings and adorable spots make her so beautiful!

Are you looking for the perfect gentle giant? Look no further, as Benson is the one. I had the fun of walking him this morning, and what a perfect gentleman he was.

He greeted me with a sweet, gentle tail wag when I entered his kennel and waited so patiently while I put on his harness—such a good boy! He strutted out of the facility, happy and confident, not bothered by any of the other dogs.

After a quick potty break, Benson was ready for his walk! He’s so easy to walk—calm, gentle, and always right by my side. He didn’t pull or bark, and nothing fazed him—not cars, not traffic. He was simply content to explore all the new sights and smells with me. And when it was treat time, he took them ever-so-gently from my hand, making my heart melt!

Benson is young —about 1-3 years old—and a tall, handsome Great Dane mix. I’m 5’9’’ and could easily give him head scratches as we strolled, which he absolutely loved! He’s got the cutest black-and-white spots on his paws and the happiest upright tail curve you’ve ever seen.

Benson can’t wait to find his forever family—or a loving foster home to shower him with affection until his perfect people come along.

Sparky is a sweet and wonderful pup who came to us all the way from Alabama. He arrived at Fluffy Dog Rescue in January 2025, just about a year old, and spent seven months being loved and cared for by the amazing FDR volunteers.
Now that he’s been with us for about a month, I can honestly say—he’s settling in beautifully! I am so impressed with how well he is doing!
Thanks to regular walks, playtime, a steady routine, and plenty of evening snuggles, Sparky has really settled into life as a calm, well-mannered young dog. After his morning walk and a bit of neighborhood exploring, he’s happy to relax and lounge around for most of the day. He also gets a nice walk after dinner—and after that, he’s usually ready to wind down for the night. Sometimes, he even chooses to head to bed early instead of curling up in a lap! It’s so nice having such a chill, easygoing pup around the house.
Some of Sparky’s greatest hits so far:
🐾HOUSE TRAINED!
Yep, Sparky does all his business outside. He doesn’t always ask to go out, but we stick to a regular schedule—and we haven’t had an accident in ages.
🐾Learning some commands.
He knows to sit and wait before going through the door or digging into his food. Such a little gentleman.
🐾Leash manners are improving.
He’s much calmer on walks and pulls way less than he used to—unless a squirrel or deer crosses our path (can you blame him?).
🐾Social butterfly.
Sparky loves meeting people! On walks, he often gets stopped for a quick hello and lots of pets. Everyone comments on how CUTE he is.
🐾Chilling in the yard.
He’s starting to enjoy spending time outside without needing us right next to him—huge progress for a dog that used to need constant company.
🐾Less barking, more relaxing.
He’s becoming more patient and less needy for attention, which means the barking at us has dialed down. It really seems like he’s starting to feel safe and settled in.

It’s official — Sparky has spoken! 🐾 He’s decided the Men are where it’s at! (Though he says the Ladies are pretty awesome too… 💁‍♀️)
But according to Sparky, the fellas give the best belly rubs, ear scratches, and have the comfiest laps for snuggling. 😄

Basset Hounds aren’t usually big fans of water, but Sparky breaks the mold—every time we head outside, he loves to take a long, slow walk down the pier for his daily ‘water patrol,’ taking his sweet time to appreciate the view and the fish below!😄

Today, we took Sparky on his first trip to the small dog park! We chose a quieter time of day so he could ease into the new environment and get comfortable being off-leash.
He met a few friendly pups along the way—sharing some playful greetings before continuing his exploration. It was warm, so we found a shady spot under the trees where he could cool off in the damp grass and take it all in.
Sparky did great for his first visit! Next time, we’ll go when the park’s a bit busier—he’s definitely ready for more playtime with new friends!

Ok… seriously. How is this boy still homeless? Let’s fix that. 🐾

Meet Sparky, a ridiculously cute, short'n long Basset Hound who’s basically a loaf of love with legs. He’s about 1.5 year old, weighs around 35 lbs, stands just 22” tall, and stretches a whopping 33” from snoot to b***y.
Sparky has a sleek black and white coat that’s super soft, smooth, and shiny—basically a walking velvet sausage.

But looks aren’t everything, so here’s what we’ve learned about this little goofball since he joined us:
Playful Pup Energy – Sparky loves his toys and chasing stuffies.
Curious Explorer – He’s confident, curious, and always ready to investigate every corner of the yard (or your kitchen).
Velcro Vibes – He sticks close to his people and is always on standby to follow you anywhere… even the bathroom.
Sweet & Affectionate – He’s happy to share a gentle nose boop or a kiss,
Chill When Needed – He knows when it’s time to settle down and does it quietly—but always with one eye open, just in case you move.
Outdoor Enthusiast – Big fan of walks, fresh air, and sniffing absolutely everything.
Window Watcher – He loves his new view out our patio doors—watching the world go by is his new favorite hobby.
Affection Expert – Belly rubs, ear scratches, forehead kisses—he’s into all of it.

I received a wonderful update on our former foster, Max!

It's hard to believe it's been 6 months already. Max is doing very well. While there have been challenging days, Max has been such a joy in our lives. In a very short period of time, Max has taught us so much about patience, love, and companionship.

We learned very quickly that he loves car rides so we make an effort to take him for a car ride after his evening walks. We also learned that he needs his personal space but will actively seek his personal space in the same room we are in, which is adorable.

We took Max camping and canoeing for the first time and were pleasantly surprised at how well he did.

For J4, Max and I sat by the driveway and watched fireworks from a far. He was so calm and chill. I couldn't believe it.

It’s very obvious who Max’s favorite human is in our household. He’s home with me all day but as soon as my husband comes home from work, they are inseparable.

Yesterday was National Pet Day, and Lilly couldn’t have celebrated it any better — she found her forever home!

She’s keeping her sweet name, and now has two new brothers who loved her before they walked through the door. They’re so excited to share their world with her!

We’re beyond happy for Lilly — her new life will be full of love, fun, and awesome adventures! 🐾💕
