Look! It’s our own Bling Bangs’ first parade! He toughed out a rainy rainy day and did what horses do and rolled right before the parade. I kept him going through his jitters but after getting him to a safe space to have less stimuli and having someone direct me back into a crowd. We decided to take a break and regroup maybe next year giving a talk about autonomy of the rider, AKA backseat driving Barley did excellent this year, very composed as a true West Indian should be, he carried the Chief and his Queen the entire way but last year he tried it and didn’t like it. We have a blueprint now. I’m glad we were able to experience this.

Our Story

We are a sanctuary for thoroughbred horses needing a home after their track career is over. We also provide a home for any abandoned horse. Location is at Smith Bay across from Lindquist Beach, with 3 acres of land home to 23 horses. When horses are rehabiltated, they are trained to be gentle, excellent horses for riding.

We offer a trail/beach ride to help with the enormous costs of maintaining 23 horses. Ride is on Lindquist Beach and lasts for an hour and half. Lessons are given before the ride to ensure a first time or novice rider is comfortable on the horse. Experienced riders may ride at their own pace once on the beach. Small groups only, maximum eight guests. Reservations must be made in advance. Rides once a day at nine am. Exceptions to the time can be arranged.

Cost $85.00 and $50.00 for child riding with the adult. Payment is cash or Paypal found on this page.

No age limit as long as the very young child is experienced. Weight limit under 275 pounds.
