Building frames for one of the 8 foot tall Treetop Panther Chameleon habitats to match the rest of the Bioactive/Naturalistic chameleon room.

Still have a nail passing through my body so that’s slowed me down but as soon as that’s all good I know the exact wood I’m about to collect for the rest of the hardscapes and I am so freaking excited! For now I finished the step where the freak accident occurred because it was driving me mad.

Collected some driftwood from the Ohio river across the bridge in Indiana. Forgot to document the search but will be making some new things with the pieces soon I can’t wait to show you! The last touch ups are finally complete and ready to run the bulkheads/drain tubing 🥳

If you have been following along on our IG stories (can be found in our highlights section “Cham room 🚧”) or on Facebook then you know I’ve been working really hard on our fully automated naturalistic/bioactive Panther Chameleon room. I haven’t made as many post on IG as I plan to organize all the Timelapse’s and do voiceovers explaining the process to post as reels and YT videos. The finish date always gets doubled and most of the time tripled for projects like this over here but just know I’ve been working my butt off on this everyday and will be back to posting regularly on IG very soon. So much in store for you guys that have been following along from the beginning in 2020 and all our new followers as well. Grateful for every single one of you!

A few more steps and I get to go to chameleon branch paradise to collect driftwood for the hardscapes. About to freeze but will be worth it. #

Carving some pond foam on one habitat, adding silicone over the liquid rubber (that’s also on top of silicone, then pond foam then another layer of liquid rubber over silicone that attaches the backgrounds to the habitat and pond liner under that) on the second habitat, while adding the last layers of drylock original mixed with sand sediment, wood glue, and acrylic paint on the third habitat. Once these are all caught up with each other I’ll add the final touches of brushing, dirt color and moss color. After that all that’s left is the hardscaping and adding the bulkheads. Yes, overkill, I don’t want to lose sleep over leaks. You know the whole do it right the first time so you don’t have to do it twice thing.
