Thanks to all of you and your generosity, Gladys was able to have her orthopedic hip surgery (FHO) in November!

She’s recovering nicely and being spoiled by her wonderful foster family!

Gladys was left behind at a rental home in Texas when her ‘family’ moved out.😣 For several months, her savior, Fawnne, worked to gain her trust and to get her comfortable being inside the house (the ‘little’ things… not always so little!).

Gladys is approximately 3yo and 60lbs. She’s described as sweet and mellow, and now loves the indoor life! She’ll be ready to find her forever family soon… could it be yours!?

✨Adoptable✨Maren’s foster mom created these photos of Maren doing a few of her favorite things… pretty cute!😆❤️

Maren and her sister, Miranda, were abandoned outside someone’s home in South Texas as tiny puppies. After battling parvovirus and GI parasites, these girls have grown into absolutely gorgeous, sweet, happy dogs who love spending time with other dogs and people. They are approximately 8months old, and Maren is about 65lbs.

ELAF alum, Dora (now Gemma) enjoying life in her Maine adoptive home. Her adoptive mom shares updates about this fun, smart, spicy kiddo with us often, and we love to hear about what a wonderful life she lives!

Dora was found as a lone stray in the middle of nowhere, South Texas several years ago. Destined for who-knows-what terrible fate, her path happened to cross that of a kind person who looked for rescue help for her. Amazing the change of life trajectory for these dogs… because of the kindness of one person!

Never underestimate the power of seemingly small gestures of compassion and kindness. They could truly change someone’s life.❤️

✨Adoptable✨ Howard had a great time in the snow yesterday!

Howard is about 2yo and 20ish pounds. He enjoys the company of other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, is house and crate-trained. He’s easy to handle, good for baths and nail-trimming. He’s pretty low-energy… except when he sees a squirrel!🐿️👀

His absolute favorite thing is cuddling with his person… for hours on end. He’s a very sweet, easy friend to have around! And he has the cutest little scruffy face❤️

✨Adoptable✨ Etta James (tan dog in green coat) went for a walk with ELAF alum, Stella today! Both girls had a great time and partook of many treats along the way😆

Etta is an absolutely lovely-tempered, gorgeous puppy. She’s about 9-10months old and approximately 50lbs. She’s house-trained and crate-trained. She loves the company of other dogs, and is very playful! She can be initially shy with new folks, but warms up quickly… especially when she has a dog friend present. She is very food-motivated and learns quickly!

Choco was recently returned to us after being adopted-out several months ago. He was overwhelmed by the very busy and unpredictable young child energy in the adoptive home. His adopters were concerned he wasn’t happy, and after discussing the situation, he came back to us at ELAF so we can find him his happiest life!

We try so hard to find the best possible homes for these dogs, but once in a while, things don’t work out, and that’s ok! That’s just the “nature of the beast” when running a rescue….we’re dealing with living creatures with individual personalities and needs! So, it’s onward for Choco!❤️

Choco has been decompressing the past few weeks and readjusting to life in his former foster home. And now he’s ready to find his forever folks!

This little man is about 20lbs and approximately 2yo. He’s dog and cat friendly. He enjoys meeting new folks and did well with the older kids in his former home. He’ll be looking for a quieter life, but he’d love to go for daily walks and/or car ride adventures. He’s house and crate trained. He’s described as super cuddly and snuggly, too!
