There are various reasons why walks with your dog can be shorter. Regardless of this, our dogs need a certain amount of exercise in order to maintain their musculature and joint mobility. If your dog does not move enough, it can lead to joint problems within a very short time. 🦴

That's why today we present you 3 varied ways to keep your dog moving at home. 😋

Encircling objects
Encircling promotes the uniform load on both sides of the body and the agility of your dog. Only in case of instability of the spine caution is required here.

All Four
With this exercise you train your dogs body tension and balance. Start with a large, flat target, such as a foot mat, on which your dog can stand comfortably. Reward him when he's on target with all fours. Then you can always use smaller and higher targets.

Obstacle Course
The aim is to promote your dog's proprioception and balance. Use different and constantly changing materials, such as books, balance cushions, broomstick or cushions.

Before our four-legged pets were domesticated, dental care took place quite naturally. Pieces of meat from prey were relatively tough and had to be chewed for a corresponding length of time. In addition, bones with their hard structure ensured proper abrasion of food remains.

Unfortunately, our theme week “winter with a dog” is coming to an end. That’s why we want to share 3 tips for the cold season with you today! 🌨

#1 Coat care
Dogs with longer coats especially need more intensive coat care. After a walk, make sure there are no ice chunks left in the coat and that the hair is not matted.

#2 Paw care
Snow, road salt or grit in particular often accumulate in the spaces between paw pads and cause chafing that can become infected. Check and clean your four-legged friend's paws regularly.

#3 Snow gastritis
Contaminants such as dirt, antifreeze, road salt and grit in the snow can attack the stomach and mucous membranes, causing snow gastritis. So make sure your dog doesn't eat snow.

After the walk
After the walk, the ideal place for your dog is in a draft-free, warm and dry place.

On wet days
If your dog is damp and wet, you should change the blanket in his basket a while after the walk and hang it up to dry. This way you avoid that your dog gets cold.

Preventing colds
Dogs can catch a cold, tonsillitis and they are not immune to cystitis. However, you can prevent this with a dry and warm place.

Antioxidants

Probiotics

Omega fatty acids
