Right now, shelters are bursting at the seams. Dogs with so much love to give are waiting—hoping—for a chance to make it out alive. But we can’t say yes unless someone says, “I’ll help.”

That someone could be you.

Waldo’s Rescue Pen is a 100% foster-based rescue. That means we don’t have a shelter. Every dog we save depends entirely on someone opening their heart and home—even just for a little while.

We’re looking for fosters to welcome pups arriving on our next transport this Wednesday, August 6 — and we urgently need to secure spots today before the van leaves.

When you foster with Waldo’s, we provide everything you need:

Here’s a very, very cute reminder that Biggie is still looking for his forever family! We can’t believe this sweet boy has spent over 8 months in foster care and has yet to receive one application! If you’re looking to bring a true velcro pup, adventure buddy and 100 percent certified good boy into your home, Biggie is the perfect choice.

Biggie is an approx 2.5 year old neutered husky mix with the goofiest personality and eyes that’ll make you melt. He doesn’t require much space and is most content napping while curled up next to you. He loves to be outside and is ready to take on any adventure with you, but is equally as happy spending the night in on the couch. He’s house trained, only chews on his toys, is good with all people, and loves greeting all the neighborhood dogs on walks.

✅ Energy: low-medium
✅ Noise: quiet! Rarely barks
✅ House trained? YES!
✅ Good alone? YES! Will sleep the whole time.
✅ Food/toy motivated: LOVES a good toy/bone and his beef liver treats
✅ Walks: Biggie loves to be outside, but can sometimes be scared by the loud noises that come with NYC streets (can you blame him?!). With love and patience, he’s become an amazing walking companion!
✅ People friendly: YES!
✅ Dog friendly: Biggie wants to be every dog;s best friend and can be very playful with other dogs. He’s still learning boundaries that older dogs show him when they don’t want to play.

Biggie is as good as they come. He’s affectionate, calm, reliable, goofy, smiley, and social. If you lean down to pet Biggie, he’ll absolutely rise up to hug you since he LOVES a good hug. He’s good at the groomers, too, and is very polite when anyone comes to his foster mama’s door or comes inside to clean or do maintenance check-ups.

Meet Koopa Troopa - The sweetest, friendliest adventure buddy you could ever ask for! 🐢 🐾

Koopa is a 1.5-year-old, 58 lb apricot-colored sweetheart with a heart as big as his paws. This curious, cuddly, clever pup is ready to level up from foster life to forever home, and he’s bringing all the love, loyalty, and zoomies with him!

Koopa is crate trained, potty trained, dog AND cat friendly, knows sit, down, stay, and spin, and is well-mannered and great on leash. He’s a toy fanatic, treat connoisseur, and a total cuddlebug. Whether he’s playing fetch, exploring the outdoors, or snuggling up after a long day, Koopa brings joy to every moment.

Koopa would love a home with another pup and older kids who can match his energy and love for fun. Once the adventure’s over, he also loves to sit back and relax with his people. Here are some things his foster mom wanted to share about him:

Meet Olandria she’s looking for her forever villa 💖

She is a few months old and is floppy, playful girl — she loves to play with toys of all kinds and will curl up for naps in your lap. While she still has lots of playful puppy energy, she plays with her toys to keep her busy all day and is top of her class at crate naps (with no whining!) She’s food motivated which makes training a breeze.

Personality & Characteristics
🐾 Good with: Dogs, people, and kids (not cat-tested, but she’s a puppy and can learn)
🔉 Noise level: She is a quiet pup, no barking or reactiveness seen yet
🏡 We are working on potty training and nearly fully crate-trained (she wants to be where the action is, but she will happily nap and hang in her crate and sleep through the night)
🛁 Baths are a breeze
🐕‍🦺 Walking manners: Learning to walk on the leash, and is great at greeting people
🛋️ Energy level: 6/10 — She can flex up and down her energy depending on the time of day, but really do think of her like a little kid who has zoomies and lots of naps.
🍽️ Appetite: Healthy and food-motivated when working on her training
🚗 Car rides and subways? No issues at all — she likes to sit and observe
🐶 Coat: The absolute SOFTEST coat with some shedding

Meet Maui 🏝️🌺 This brave little survivor almost didn’t make it on the last transport due to a shortage of foster homes — but thankfully, he got a seat on the van to freedom and is now safe, loved, and thriving in his foster home.

We don’t know exactly what Maui has been through, but it’s clear life hasn’t been easy. He arrived malnourished with severe skin issues, yet has shown nothing but love, gentleness, and gratitude since day one. His resilience is remarkable.

Maui is settling in beautifully. He adores his small dog foster siblings and is starting to rediscover his playful puppy energy. He bonds quickly with people, loves to cuddle, and is happiest when he’s snuggled up right next to you. He’s quiet, sleeps through the night, and is doing great with potty training. He also does well outside the crate and has a big appetite for both food and love.

His favorite things? People. Dogs. Chew toys. And sleep — lots of it.

Maui is the kind of dog who reminds you what rescue is all about. He’s ready to start fresh with a family that will show him the kindness he’s always deserved.

Meet Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (you can also call her Georgie)! She is 3 years young and looking for her furever home. She loves giving kisses and getting belly rubs, but mostly, she loves a good treat! Here are some her foster mom’s favorite things about her:

💓 She takes up very little space and loves her leisure and nap time
💓 She’s potty trained, loves a long walk, and being around fellow dogs
💓 She is great with kids and very social with other people
💓 She’s a city girl and can adapt to any environment
💓 She does well in cars and loves a good road trip

Despite a rough start in life, Georgie has a lot of love to give. She loves a good head massage and giving licks and kisses in return. She’s very playful and loves a good movie night and cuddle time. People tell her she has the prettiest eyes and a great coat.

She’s a quick learner and is doing well with training. She doesn’t pull on her leash and will walk with you on your walks. She loves doing everything together. She waits by the door to tell you she needs to go outside and will go right away on walks. She’s calm in the bath, is good with getting her teeth brushed and nails cut, sleeps well all night and loves to pick a spot and have a sleep in the sun during the day.

Meet Baby Chace! 👶🍼 Baby Chace is a sweet, mellow pup with a gentle soul and the cutest little face. He’s the perfect balance of calm and playful, happy to romp around for a bit with dog friends, but even happier to curl up for a good nap. He sleeps soundly through the night, loves lounging during the day, and his absolute favorite thing in the world? TREATS.
