Big news re: RHDV vaccination!!!! It's never been easier to vaccinate your beloved pet.

Did you know that RHDV vaccination is recommended for ALL rabbits including indoor only rabbits? The highly contagious nature of this virus makes all rabbits at risk of this fatal disease. Thankfully vaccination is safe and now more readily available!!!!

Medgene, the vaccine manufacturer has made the vaccine available in single dose vials. I am now offering this service at my full time job Animal Hospital of Pataskala during routine wellness appointments. The cost of the vaccine is $40 per injection plus the cost of a comprehensive exam. Exams include nail trim, scent gland cleanings (if needed) and light grooming (if indicated). Booster vaccines are done with no additional exam fees. Contact us at 740-927-0196 for an appointment.

I am still available to do wellness based house calls especially for those that have multiple animals. Message me for pricing.

I plan to do periodic vaccine clinics but less often now that the vaccine is available more easily.

Here is some updated information on the status of RHDV2 in the United States. It is still a reportable disease in the US and very important to vaccinate all domestic rabbits for this highly contagious and mostly fatal virus. Protect your rabbit once yearly after the initial series. Please message me with any questions to see if and why your rabbit could be at risk, even indoors. The vaccine is safe and effective.

It’s vaccine clinic day. We are expecting a good turnout today. In an attempt to keep everyone warm and cozy feel free to text 614-395-2724 when you arrive and we will give you a number as our clinics are first come first serve. We will text you back when we are ready for you so you can wait in your car if you like. I will have my laser if anyone is needing laser treatments as well.
