One day, my daughter Sophie asked me a question that absolutely broke my heart:
“Mom, why doesn’t Dad love me?”
I assured her that he did, but deep down… I knew the truth. Simon had always been cold toward her. He treated my friend’s son, Jimmy, with more kindness than his own daughter.
So I confronted him.
“Tomorrow, we’re all going to the amusement park,” I said. “We’re spending time together—like a real family. Whether you like it or not.”
He tried to argue, but I wouldn’t budge.

Before we got married, my husband was sweet—thoughtful, romantic, everything you'd hope for.
After? He turned into a self-proclaimed “jokester.” He flirted with women constantly, especially waitresses, and made me the punchline.
At parties, he’d introduce me as “just a friend of a friend.” One time, he even pretended not to remember my name.
But the final straw?

I was planning to propose to my girlfriend of four years, Lily. While shopping for the ring, I texted her—just to check where she was, so we wouldn’t accidentally cross paths. She replied: having coffee with her best friend, Rosie.
Only… Rosie was standing right next to me, helping pick out the ring. I’d invited her because she knew Lily’s taste like the back of her hand.
