Don’t make your pet sick on Thanksgiving 🦃🚫
The table might be calling their name, but every “just one bite” isn’t created equal.

🟢 SAFE TREATS:
• Plain turkey with no skin or seasoning
• A little pumpkin purée
• Green beans
• Apples (no seeds)
• Their regular food with a safe topper — sardines, bone broth, or a sprinkle of freeze-dried treats

🔴 AVOID:
• Turkey skin & bones
• Stuffing, gravy, onions, garlic
• Mac & cheese
• Anything sweet
• Chocolate (always a no)
• Xylitol (double no)

If you want to keep it simple: serve their normal meal and add a healthy topper. They’ll feel included without the tummy drama.

Brick City Pets is closed today, but we’re back tomorrow with good eats and open hearts.

Newark, we need you. 🖤🐾

The Associated Humane Society of Newark is at full capacity. Our shelters are overflowing, our neighbors on four paws are waiting for homes, and the staff is stretched thin trying to hold it all together.

Brick City Pets has always believed in community first and right now, we’re calling on ours.

We’re looking for collaborators, volunteers, creatives, groomers, organizers, trainers, photographers, business owners, and anyone with a heart for animals to help us pull together a fundraiser or adoption event to support AHS Newark in this moment of real need.

This shelter shows up for Newark every single day.
Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

🐾 Boot Up Before the Blizzard! ❄️
Now’s the perfect time to get your pup used to wearing booties before that first icy sidewalk surprise! 👟

Here’s how to pick the right pair:
✨ Fit matters: snug, not tight. If they fly off when your dog walks, they’re too loose!
🌧️ Check traction: rubber soles or grip pads help prevent slips.
💦 Waterproof wins: keeps paws dry and protected from salt & snow.
🌀 Flexibility is key: your dog should be able to bend their paw naturally. Stiff booties = grumpy paws!
🐕 Ease in slowly, start with a few minutes indoors and reward with treats!

I didn’t start Brick City Pets to get rich , I started it to serve, to inspire. 💛 It’s not about making a dollar; it’s about making a difference, helping. Every pet parent who walks through my doors reminds me why I do this and I love what I do. Yes I get tired and this is not easy but I'm enjoying this journey and the lessons I'm learning. I just wanted to remind y'all.. when I say "nah don't buy that probiotic, go get some sauerkraut" it's because I want to help and not just get your money.🐾✨
