No meet up video this week I'm afraid.

Whenever a new dog arrives, it is a defra regulation that it stays in the house and garden only for 48 hours, something we would probably do anyway to allow the dog to settle. This means we are virtually housebound as we also wouldn't leave a new dog alone.

So this video is of my dogs and little Shaki (who sadly hasn't had a single application 😪) is even doing a little dance at the end 😂😂

Hi all .. sorry been a bit quiet but I had a new delivery yesterday afternoon. Fund raising for her transport was a bit uncertain so I hadn’t posted pictures of her in advance.

She’s a large/medium GSD x and the gentlest soul imaginable. She’s taken the big pack here in her stride and tomorrow her prospective adopter will be coming to meet her. She has been chosen from videos and photos of dogs sent to me by our helpers in Romania, with no obligation to adopt of course.

The lady has already seen all the pictures and videos I’ve taken of her since she arrived and is excited to meet her tomorrow. Lilly is a calm, gentle girl and not at all phased by the other five dogs here and considering she’s never lived in a home before she has been amazing ❤️.

Sorry all … no ZL group walk video!! A friend joined us yesterday and there was a lot of nattering and I totally forgot! Mea culpa 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️!

We just wanted to send out a reminder that whenever our dogs are adopted, we always honour any pre-booked holiday and the dog simply moves back in with us.

Cole and Shaki were both extensively advertised at the weekend and there was no serious interest for either of them.

With holiday time in full swing, we wonder whether people are assuming that they need to wait until after their holiday. We can't think of any other reason why 2 such fantastic dogs haven't been snapped up 😥😥.

Just to update you on our current foster dogs:

We had an amazingly generous offer from a rescue colleague to help us with advertising Teddy on Pets4 homes. As a very small rescue, this wasn't open to us so we are immensely grateful. I will also put his adverts out again in a couple of weeks if nobody suitable comes along.

Shaki is ready to find her forever home. I held her back because there was possible interest, but sadly the timing wasn't quite right as the potential adopter is currently moving and one of her cats is very timid and needs time to settle before turning her world completely upside down by introducing a dog. Shaki, however, did meet her confident cat with no issue, so that's another box ticked. I will be putting her advert onto the local pages tomorrow, so if anyone is interested or would like to know more about this cheeky but adorable little girl, get in quick 😂.

Anita's smashing waggy tailed Coley/Cody is also ready and waiting with baited breath for his special person or people 🙏🙏.

We are hoping to bring over another couple of dogs very soon, so let's hope these 3 are lucky, otherwise both our homes will be rather crowded 😬😬.

Morning all 😊. Sorry I’m a bit late with the video of this weeks walk on the 2nd. Usual group of lovely and well behaved dogs.

I have only one foster dog .. Cole/Cody, who has at last realised what a recall is .. and I must get around to advertising him.

Jacky has two who are both equally ‘home ready’. Little Shaki and of course Teddy. Both with good recalls, well socialised and attentive.

The weather was considerably cooler on Wednesday which was a relief to us all and we were able to walk in the fields as well as the woods.

It does continue to amaze and disappoint us that Teddy still hasn’t even had a meet and greet despite being advertised so widely which is very sad … but we have to still believe that the ‘right’ person must be out there somewhere .. 🤞🤞🙏🙏

Teddy's advert has gone onto 13 fb groups and not a single response 😪😪.

Teddy is a great dog in so many ways. He is a joy to walk, good with other dogs, loves the car, sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is incredibly affectionate.

He is a bit anxious with some men (not all) and we think his eye injury may have been inflicted by a cruel man. He also does not really like being left alone in the house.

Teddy's ideal adopter would perhaps be a retired lady who is at home a lot and looking for a loyal companion.

Don't forget that we do honour any existing holiday when our dogs are adopted and they simply move back in with us.

It’s now time for me to start looking for a home for Cole, who equally answers to Coley (of course he’s oblivious to the fact that is a fish 😂) and also Cody. I probably should have added that he’s probably about 7. Marvellously adult, calm and peaceful … but loads of energy to call on whenever there’s an opportunity to use it 😂😂!

He doesn’t put a foot wrong and never has .. and needs to be loved. I do my best but here he is one of a pack .. although he’d happily live with another dog. Please do ask if there’s anything specific you’d like to know.

Please bear in mind that the temperature here is 30c outside and 25c indoors … so I’m not asking him to provide me with action shots today! Maybe once it’s cooled down we’ll all have more energy!
