PART 2:
So! This will be open to the whole room and other cats when not used for kittens but for now it is set up for some upcoming babies! But it also serves a better purpose too! ✨️
Originally we wanted another birthing tent but being that they can be difficult to use in certain ways with time and back issues from surgeries and going through cancer I decided to go for something more accessible!
My recent post has information on the cattio itself.
But here we have :
▪️food and water station (water safe mats for any splashing or wetfood messes)
▪️A litter mat and box (Easily changed out, kittens will have a differentbox to potty train and blocked by cardboard on the outside)
▪️A small cat tree so she wont jump too high (one of her favorites)
▪️A cardboard birthing space, fit with a cushion piece, a blanket and a p*e mat. (This is our first time using cardboard as a bedding piece, but it is a test and also a decent insulation addition)
Obviously we aren't done, but a big addition will be a cloaking piece of some sort, we will wrap it around the cattio on the bottom area for privacy. But we will keep the top and door uncovered for airflow!
Our cats love a good dark place to keep their babies so we're really hoping that this is not only big enough but comfortable and dark enough for Gypsy and any other moms when they are ready!
