What do we do? Who are we? 🐾

We are Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i, a tiny but MIGHTY, 100% volunteer -501c3 non- profit animal rescue, 🐾 dedicated to saving lives, primarily on Oahu and Molokai. 🏝️

Rescue Kitties of Hawai‘i (RKH) is deeply committed to supporting, advocating for, and actively participating in spay/neuter and TNR (trap-neuter-return) efforts across O’ahu and Moloka‘i. Our mission goes beyond rescuing kittens — we work to reduce cat overpopulation humanely and responsibly, helping to create balance between community cats and the native wildlife that make the islands so special. We believe in being part of the solution and are here to serve Hawai’i with respect, compassion, and a shared goal of protecting the land, the animals, and the people who call it home.

Here we go again… 😩🆘 She’s just a Moloka’i girl🌺…minding her own business and trying to survive in this cruel, evil world….and now she’s critically wounded and suffering💔 These poor kitties 🐈 🐈‍⬛ cannot catch a break. 😭🚨 URGENT FUNDS NEEDED — Life-Saving Leg Amputation & More 🚨
This is one of the hardest weeks we’ve ever had. 💔

Yesterday we took in a young cat 🐈 with a deep, gaping wound under her leg—torn open, infected, and incredibly painful. 😢
No emergency vet. No humane euthanasia. No resources at all.

We’re stabilizing her the best we can, but we need urgent help to fly her to O‘ahu for surgery before it’s too late. 🏥✈️

At the same time, we’re fundraising for a tiny kitten 🐱 whose leg was ripped off in a fishing net, and the other leg is missing a foot. 😣 She’s scheduled for an amputation Tuesday—possibly both legs. We’re not financially prepared for a double amputation.

💔 It’s heartbreaking. These cats want to live. We just need help giving them the chance.

Here’s what we’re juggling right now:
🔹 Cat with massive open wound needs surgery
🔹 Kitten with fishing net injury needs 1–2 limb amputations
🔹 Poseidon needs full dental in 2 weeks
🔹 Mr. Goat is fighting neurological FIP on expensive meds
🔹 Several kittens need eye enucleation surgery
🔹 Kitty ✈️ transport to mainland in 2 weeks—without it, we can’t rescue more
🔹 7 puppies + dozens of kittens need spay/neuter & vetting
🔹 We are bursting at the seams, supplies are low, and costs are piling up daily

We’re trying to do the impossible on Moloka‘i—but we can’t do it without you. 💔

🧡 GINGY UPDATE! 🧡
Remember the emaciated little orange cat we rescued — starving, dehydrated, covered in fleas, and too weak to eat? That’s Gingy, and thanks to her amazing foster mom’s nonstop love and care, she’s done a complete turnaround! 🌼🐾

She’s gained weight, healed from her GI issues, and finally started to play and trust again. But during her spay, she developed a spay hernia — a rare complication that needed urgent surgical repair.

Today she’s at Pearl Surgical Vet getting the hernia fixed, and we’re so incredibly grateful to the vet team for getting her in quickly and giving this brave girl the second chance she fought so hard for. 🙏💖

Once she’s healed, Gingy will be flown to our amazing mainland rescue partners, where a loving forever home is already waiting. ✈️🐈‍⬛💕

From terrified and skeletal to strong, sweet, and safe — this is what rescue is all about. 💪🧡

⚠️ WARNING ⛔️ GRAPHIC‼️ SOS! 🚨 🆘 DONATIONS NEEDED! Stray kitten’s leg ripped apart-he needs LEG AMPUTATION asap! 🚨 We just pulled this poor lil guy 🐱 from the boat 🛥️ wharf on Molokai. 🏝️ He was caught in a fishing 🎣 net and it ripped half of his front leg off. 😱 He is in agony and terrified. 😩 We started him on pain meds and antibiotics to try and ward off sepsis/infection. 🙏
We need to fly ✈️ him to Oahu for emergency surgery on Tuesday.

Wonderful news for Mama Kahua!! 🙌❤️
She was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped today at our AWESOME vet on Oahu.
We were concerned that she would need her tail amputated due to the bad, open wounds, but Dr KC said she can keep her tail! 🙌 He cleaned up the wound and gave her a long lasting antibiotic injection/pain meds, and she will fly back to our RKH Molokai Team tomorrow with one of our awesome volunteers!
Thank you Pearl vet, and a HUGE thank you to our amazing RKH foster, Barbie, on Oahu for always taking the best care of da kitties!

Mama is soooo sweet and she will be returning to her family on Molokai that loves her very much.
We couldn’t help but smile when we caught her on security camera SMILING!!! If you look at the still pics, she’s grinning ear to ear!!!
We love you Mama Kahua!!! You will feel soooo much better now. And, no more babies being born, getting sick in the wild and dying….The CYCLE HAS ENDED! 🙌❤️🐾

This is why we constantly MUST ask for YOUR help in replenishing our critical care supplies🙏🙏🙏 All our sick kittens have survived (so far🙏) because we have been able to care for them properly WITHOUT ANY VET CARE HERE😭🙏🙌
We can only save them with emergency/critical care supplies stocked up 🆘

Mama Kahua of Moloka’i is OFF to be spayed/vetted on O’ahu! Thank you to our incredible Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i volunteer team and everyone helping this sweet, young mom of having litter after litter after litter of sick, dying kittens 🙌🙏💔
Mama was obviously confused and scared, being in a kennel and in a strange place overnight, so I put Mama’s 2 smallest babies with her. They are the 2 that were most critically ill, but after critical support care for past few days, they are both starting to thrive and bounce back.
Mama and babies snuggles together all night, and it was so beautiful and heartwarming to see her nurturing them and being such an attentive Mama. 💗

She will be spayed on Oahu tomorrow, and her mothering journey will end. She will be a happy cat again and not crying and sad, missing any of her babies.
