Sunday morning was a wet one at a new venue and the tree cover was welcomed! Both Osian and Toby excelled with the wet, rural ground, with some lovely ground scenting and quick trailing.
Meanwhile, Rebel was on her first ever progression. She can be reactive to dogs and people, but she was super focussed once trailing, and her fabulous nose was on the ground!

On Thursday evening showing River the ropes were Kain and Luna. On his very first progression session Kain was a fabulous example to River - focussed, using only his nose, on a scent article start and working his first turn at a junction! Well done Kain!! ⭐️

Meanwhile, Luna’s been making fab progress lately and she worked a really tough junction soooo well. Where she used to give up and ask for help in the early days now she problem solves, keeps going and works it out. Wow! Proud of you Luna!! ⭐️

On Thursday evening we welcomed the beautiful River to Mantrailing! She’s sniffy by nature but can be wary of new people, but by the end of the session she was happily eating out of new friends’ hands.

She was a natural, searching with just her nose on her second attempt, and really picking it up quickly. Can’t wait to see her progress!

I’m lucky to have amazing clients and today 3 of them came to support us at the dog show, and demonstrate our fabulous sport of mantrailing to a new audience. It’s not easy to put yourself forward for demo’ing something with your dog - what if they have an off day? Ignore you? Or something goes wrong? So I’m super grateful to Teams Rodney, Bobbie & Dandy for showing how amazing mantrailing is, and that it’s suitable for all breeds, sizes, ages…

The wait is nearly over! Tomorrow 12-5pm we will be at Winwick Carnival where we are a proud sponsor of the Dog Show organised by The Quirky K9

Come say hi at our stall next to the dog ring where we can talk all things dog training, scent sports, and where you can buy and win goodies for your dog.

Then at 2pm we're doing a mantrailing demo in the dog ring.

Oh and don't forget to enter your dog in one of the dog show classes - epic prizes to be won!!
