Thank you all for another successful year at the Have Yourself A Gothic Little Christmas market! I plan to be back in 2024.

As always I will continue to take commissions. I have fresh stock on the way, some new, some old. I also have some mounts left from the show which I will post for sale in the coming days.

Thank you to all who came out to the Have Yourself a Gothic Little Christmas!

It was a smashing success; all but 7 pieces of the entire collection have sold! As a result, Quiet Uses will regretfully have to withdraw from the Yuletide Gifting and Craft Faire to re-stock inventory, but there will be loads of other fascinating vendors to see!

I am absolutely blown away and thankful that so many of you love my art. I will be back at the markets in the new year, so keep your eyes peeled for updates. Commissions still accepted as always!

Welcome to Quiet Uses, a Halifax-based creator featuring original butterfly and moth taxidermy.

If you wish to place a custom order you can send your requests via direct message or by e-mail at [email protected]. Unsure of what species you'd like? We can easily work together to figure out a mount that best suits your interests!

If you require your custom piece by a specific date, your order should be placed at least one month in advance for local orders. Custom orders requiring shipping should be placed at least two months in advance to accommodate any potential shipping delays. Tracking and insurance are encouraged.

***PLEASE NOTE*** All insects offered are ethically and sustainably sourced, then legally imported into Canada. These specimens are farmed and collected under government permission specific to their country of origin, then exported with licenses and permits where required. Now that Christmas is over I can finally start sharing some of my client creations without spoiling any surprises. This is custom piece for my partner that they requested a few months ago (a little jealous it wasn’t my idea).

Look familiar? This is the famed Death’s-head Hawkmoth, mostly known for its appearance in the film ‘Silence of the Lambs.’ Easily identifiable by the skull-like markings of it's thorax.

I had to search high and low to find these specimens, and now currently have four available. I don’t expect I will be able to find more any time soon (despite my best efforts), so you better get your name in while you can! Limit one specimen per client.
