Guess who got invited back for next year's FETCH 360 conference! What do you want me to talk about?
LMU-CVM’s Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology Dr. Veronica King joined Dr. Adam Christman, Chief Veterinary Officer for DVM360, on Instagram Live to talk about veterinary pathology and build growing interest in the upcoming Fetch DVM360 Virtual Conference. Drs. King and Christman met through the veterinary mentoring group Pawsibilities Vet Med, whose goal is to improve the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups into the veterinary profession.
.
After meeting Dr. King through Pawsibilities, Dr. Christman quickly invited her to become part of the Fetch Faculty and speak at the upcoming Fetch DVM360 Virtual Conference on February 25-27th. She has four presentations titled “Describing the Lesion Part 1 (and 2): A student, technician and clinician’s introduction to gross pathologic lesions and interpretations,” “How to satisfy a pathologist every time! Tips for proper laboratory submissions” and “Laboratory submissions: the good, the bad and the awful.”
During the Instagram Live video on Friday, comments of gratitude and appreciation came flooding in for Dr. King from students and colleagues, below are just a few:
“Dr. King is so genuine!”
“Dr. King preps you for the NAVLE better than anyone I know!”
“Dr. King has taught me so much; I use pathology in all of my classes!”
“She made me LOVE necropsies!”
“Dr. King has truly helped me through my pathology rotation- so much!”
“Dr. King is amazing and always there to help!”
“Dr. King is truly loved by her veterinary students! What an absolute treasure to see the collaborative love within our profession!” said Dr. Adam Christman on the DVM360mag Instagram account.
While seeing the comments, Dr. King said she is forever appreciative of her students support. “I am hoping to expand my skills into the virtual world where I can do short teaching segments on basic pathology concepts,” said Dr. King. “I would like to appeal to everyone: undergraduate students, vet students, veterinarians and whoever else has an interest in learning about veterinary pathology. I’m looking forward to where this takes me, but for now I am so excited for the opportunity!” Dr. Veronica King brings so much joy to our program, we are thankful to have her here at LMU-CVM.
